Book 3, Chapter 360: Arrival
Book 3, Chapter 360: Arrival
While Skyshark’s airship was heading toward Glowing Dew District, the World Ring Defense System and the government departments involved in the operation were watching the fight.Multiple forces were involved in the operation to take out Ferris Wheel. On the surface, they were taking out a company, but in actuality, they were trying to gain more prestige.
Azure Dragon, Ocean Development Corporation, and the departments involved in the operation were all on the Great Shun Republic’s side.
If they managed to get rid of Ferris Wheel, defend the Fu-Mu Entity’s propagation, and get rid of the existence from the other world, the Department of Administrative Affairs in Jibei Road’s Central City and even the Great Shun Republic’s government as a whole would be largely fortified and strengthened.
In the fight for power, if someone won, then someone else had to lose. If the government’s prestige rose, then the municipal government representing the company’s interests would be suppressed.
The armed forces of multiple companies had joined the defense over the Fu-Mu Entity’s propagation, but they suffered severe casualties. This meant that their strength was reduced, which further decreased the municipal government’s power.
But for this to become fact, they needed to achieve all their goals.

Mr. Cao, the messenger from the National General Affairs Bureau who had given instructions for Chen Chuan’s unrestricted defense permit, was standing in one of the warehouses at the perimeter of Glowing Dew District. He was staring at the screen in front of him, which showed a choppy video of the fight in Ferris Wheel.
“Your tea, Mr. Cao.” A National General Affairs Bureau member and one of his subordinates brought a cup of hot tea over.
Mr. Cao took the cup and sipped it with his eyes fixed on the screen.
“Mr. Cao, you haven’t slept for three days. Would you like to rest?” the subordinate asked.
“Staying awake a little longer makes no difference,” Mr. Cao rejected the idea. “Keep a close eye on the sea. If there’s any news, immediately inform me.”
“Unit Three is keeping watch,” his subordinate answered.
“What about the municipal government?”
“We’re keeping a close eye on them, as ordered. We’ve also intercepted all the communication networks nearby and performed domain interference. Even if they notice anything wrong, their orders won’t leave Majestic Light District.”
The subordinate hesitated for a moment before taking half a step forward. “Mr. Cao, we noticed something strange near Greenpeak Hill. Should we send someone to check?”
“Ignore that place for now. Our most important targets are right here,” Mr. Cao said with a hand raised to stop him from speaking.
Just then, a liaison officer hurried over and whispered urgently, “Mr. Cao, the people from the National Ad Hoc Special Operations Committee are here demanding that we let them inspect the plan.”
Mr. Cao checked his watch. It was 11:20 p.m.. “Tell them to pick a place, and I’ll meet them there. I’ll tell them everything face-to-face.”
“Understood.”

In the northern part of Glowing Dew District, Lei Guangcheng was standing on the roof and looking in the direction of Ferris Wheel. Beside him were members of the Cult Investigation Bureau.
“Mr. Lei, we’ve checked all twelve rituals. They’re fine.”
Lei Guangcheng nodded. They had surrounded the peninsula and set up twelve rituals, which responded to the ritual inside Ferris Wheel’s building.
Once it was activated, the rituals outside would activate as well. This way, they could support it and make sure that the ritual inside could serve its purpose.
The subordinates looked at where the main ritual was located. “Mr. Lei, the restraint will only work for a moment. Even in the best case scenario, it won’t hold for more than the span of a breath. It won’t be easy to seize this chance to attack. Can the person the World Ring Defense System sent really do it?”
Lei Guangcheng’s gaze remained fixed on the building as he said firmly, “Don’t worry. The person I recommended can definitely seize the chance.”

It was 11:22 p.m.. As the propellers roared, a Skyshark airship entered Glowing Dew District.
The two airships parked at the perimeter of the district drew close to it.
It was to ensure the stability of the messages between them, should there be any, and to provide cover, so that no one knew which was the main one. This was to prevent moles from pulling some schemes.
Chen Chuan stood at the front of the airship’s upper floor and looked outside through the porthole. At some point in time, fog had appeared. Clouds moved back as the airship flew forward, and the city underneath became a blur.
An overseer entered the room and said, “Captain Chen, we’ve reached Glowing Dew District and are heading to Ferris Wheel. We should be able to reach it within ten minutes.”
Chen Chuan picked up the wide-brimmed hat from the table by his side and put it on, then straightened it and wrapped the protective scarf around his neck. After that, he grabbed the Frost King Saber and exited the room.
The overseer followed him. The higher-ups had ordered the overseers to cooperate with Chen Chuan and relay all his requests back to them during the operation. They also had to pass on all the messages.
Once Chen Chuan reached the dock, he found that it was empty. “Where’s my friend?”
“He signed an agreement to not try and learn anything about what’s going on, so he’s staying in his room,” the overseer answered.
While Pan Xiaode was part of Skyshark Airships, he wasn’t allowed to know any details about such an important operation. He needed to sign a binding contract in regards to that and stay with an overseer at all times.
Chen Chuan nodded. This was the best solution. There were certain things that Pan Xiaode would be better off not knowing until he got strong enough.
Chen Chuan took a look outside. Perhaps due to the ocean breeze, some of the fog had dispersed. Even so, he could only see the vague outline of the buildings underneath.
Light shone from the sea and mixed with the fog. Central City and the bright sky seemed to be in two different worlds, which were trying to merge together.
While the airship continued forward, there were plenty of gaps of varying sizes around it. They flickered occasionally.
Because of it, the airship had to move carefully. They couldn’t go straight forward to avoid getting affected.
Just then, they heard rustling, and a flock of birds flew out of the gaps, though they avoided the airship.
This was because they had sprayed special chemicals and other materials on the airship. The moment the insects or birds from the merged space sensed them, they avoided the airship on their own.
At this point, Chen Chuan could already see the towering Ferris wheel by the beach, though from where he stood, it looked like it was only the size of a coin.
He stared at it. The departments had only tasked him to deliver the final blow, so he was the one to decide how to do it.
After some in-depth thinking and talking to Hongfu, Chen Chuan was inclined to use the advantages he had right now to launch a surprise attack on the targets.
He told the World Ring Defense System about his plan.
But it wasn’t going to be easy to accomplish that. They had to make sure that the target was exposed outside, which was a task for the martial artists fighting on the ground.

Back in the command center, Liang Guanghai checked his watch. It was 11:25 p.m., and the Fu-Mu Entity had propagated for the twelfth time.
“Is Captain Chen about to arrive?” he asked.
“The airship has entered Glowing Dew District and will reach Ferris Wheel in around ten minutes,” his assistant replied.
Liang Guanghai turned his gaze to the screen again. “Have you managed to contact Lao Xu?”
“We’ve tried multiple times and put a message in the weapons box we sent. They should have received it,” the assistant answered.
“Tell Lao Xu and the others that no matter how hard the request is, they need to carry it out. This is an order,” Liang Guanghai said gravely.
“Understood.”
The people making the plan and pushing it forward were all bound to it. No one could escape accountability.
At that moment, all who participated in the plan, regardless of whether it was Xu Chan and his team, the response units outside, the departments in charge of coordinating with him for the operation, or even he himself were all pieces on this chess board to land the final blow.

The airship gradually drew closer to the beach, and the Ferris wheel’s silhouette grew larger. Chen Chuan stared at it. The ocean breeze blew at the dock and made his hair dance.
The overseer received a message and said, “Captain Chen, the ones below said that the active biosentient entity possesses a wide-area mental attack. We won’t be able to get too close.”
“How big is the range?” Chen Chuan asked.
“Around two to three kilometers. We’d only be truly safe three kilometers away.”
Chen Chuan pondered over it before saying, “Can you bring the airship more than three kilometers above the company?”
“Forget three kilometers. It can even go up to four kilometers, but will that be okay?” the overseer asked. If they were so far away, could Chen Chuan attack accurately?
Chen Chuan just gave him an affirmative answer. “Let’s do that, then.”
The overseer didn’t ask any further questions and told the pilot to fly the airship higher. They had been told to obey Chen Chuan and not question him.
As the airship rose, the other two airships accompanying them flew up as well. Due to the fog, those on the ground practically couldn’t see them. They could only send messages.
Once they drew closer to the Ferris wheel, Chen Chuan’s sensitive mind sensed waves of mental energy crashing into him. Even though it had become weak and practically undetectable by the time it reached him and could barely affect normal people, he could imagine just what kind of great pressure the people close to the active biosentient entity faced.
Chen Chuan didn’t think too much about it, though. The people on the ground had their role to play, and he had his own duty to fulfill.
With the powerful ocean breeze before him, Chen Chuan pushed his hat down and waited for his chance.
