Book 3, Chapter 361: The Situation Has Changed. The Saber Is Drawn
Back in the building, Xu Chan’s team was fighting against Wu Qi. They had used their ample experience to figure out an effective strategy to fight against the active biosentient entity.Xu Chan split them into two groups. Captain Wang, Captain Lu, and he were in charge of attacking Wu Qi from the sides and the front, while the two development squad members were in charge of throwing projectiles at it from the back to hold it back and cover for their weaknesses.
Whenever Wu Qi tried to break out, Captain Lu and Captain Wang would pick up the shields the rear had sent them and crash into it like cannonballs, which would force it to stop.
There wasn’t much skill involved in this. They were relying solely on their speed.
While Wu Qi itself was agile, it was huge, and it could never outrun them when it came to short-distance movement. Even if it was much larger than any of them, the team worked well together. Whenever one person attacked, the others would harass and hold Wu Qi back.
The moment it sped up, they would force it to stop. During such times, the two development squad members would throw short spears tied with rope or a net over, causing it to retreat or dodge.
Xu Chan played a crucial role here. He shouldered more than 60% of the pressure from Wu Qi and kept it pinned in place. This was especially so when Wu Qi released its mental energy in a fury. When the others were affected, he would go forward and face it alone until that mental attack was over.
They had received an order from the World Ring Defense System to force Wu Qi out of the building into the empty space outside. They didn’t know what it was for, but since this was the order, they would do their best to carry it out.
This didn’t mean that they would just attack blindly, though. They were veterans and knew that if they wanted to achieve a goal, they couldn’t be impatient. They had to do things step by step.
Right now, they had to block Wu Qi’s path whenever it tried to break out and stop all its attempts of escaping. Then, they would reduce its movement space. In time, even if they didn’t do anything to chase it out, Wu Qi would choose to escape through the only path available to it.
Even though this was quite time-consuming, the higher-ups hadn’t given them a time limit, so they were certain that they just needed to get Wu Qi out before the Fu-Mu Entity finished propagating.
Wu Qi was not going to last until then.
Their deduction was right. As they continued putting pressure on it, more injuries covered its body, and its movements became limited.
Wu Qi soon started feeling like it couldn’t use its full strength, and, with no other option left, it retreated. After knocking down multiple walls, it got out of the building.
Once the path was opened up, Xu Chan’s team could see the gigantic, spinning Ferris wheel, along with the rising and falling ocean further away.
They chased after Wu Qi. While remaining in the formation, they landed in different spots and continued blocking its paths to escape.
Unless Wu Qi chose to jump into the ocean, it could not break out of their encirclement.
Safe Shield’s analysis had told the World Ring Defense System that while Wu Qi could swim, it couldn’t fight in water. Hence, if it escaped into the ocean, it would be surrounded by the bioweapons set up by Azure Dragon. There was no way it would choose to jump into the sea.
Safe Shield ended up being right, but for a different reason. Wu Qi wasn’t going to do that, because the directors had ordered it not to leave. It was to stay and kill the five people.

Mr. Yingwei was still standing at the bottom of the well shaft and looking up. Half of his face was illuminated by the light shining from above, while the other half was covered in darkness.
The shadow on the wall behind him flickered about, as if it was eager to do something.
But he knew that it was not the time yet.
Active biosentient entities had energy storage organs. The calorie and nutrient-dense fluid was only necessary to wake them up. When they entered combat mode, they would use the energy they had stored on a daily basis.
According to Ferris Wheel’s estimations, even if it was forced to spend tons of energy, Wu Qi could fight for two days nonstop. Hence, the active biosentient entity’s strength had yet to weaken.
But Mr. Yingwei didn’t plan to wait that long. The people outside would whittle down Wu Qi’s mental energy for him.
Active biosentient entities’ minds were incredibly stable, especially those specializing in estimations, like Wu Qi. They could detect situations harmful to themselves ahead of time, which made them hard to possess. While the existence could forcefully possess it, he would face great resistance and rejection.
If it weren’t for this fact, Mr. Yingwei would have possessed Wu Qi while he was still in the company. Since he couldn’t do that, he pushed Wu Qi to fight.
When it fought, all of Wu Qi’s functions would switch to combat mode, and it would deactivate its foresight. Because of it, it was bound to keep using up its mental energy.
Based on Mr. Yingwei’s estimations, after around forty minutes of using vast amounts of mental energy, Wu Qi would be at its weakest state. Then, he would attack.

Chen Chuan’s airship arrived above the Ferris wheel. He checked his watch. It was 11:40 p.m..
As the person meant to deal the final blow, he needed to wait for a suitable chance.
No one came forward to ask him to attack. Since they had decided to hand this task to him, they had to believe in him. They weren’t going to question him or demand him to take action.
Hongfu could give him a boost in his biofield and mental energy, but if the boost was too great, the existence from the other world could detect him.
Hongfu could only transfer a part of her power through her domain, but it was still a humongous amount of power. If Chen Chuan’s foundation wasn’t solid enough, he wouldn’t be able to endure it, much less use it.
At the end of the day, his own strength was still the foundation in landing the final blow.
Chen Chuan looked down. Even though he couldn’t see the specifics due to the fog, he could tell what was going on below based on the weak mental energy waves that came up to him.
It was clear that his comrades below had managed to chase Wu Qi out of the building, which fulfilled the prerequisite for the plan.
It was up to Chen Chuan now.
According to the plan, he was to only act when the existence from the other world possessed the active biosentient entity. Then, all the rituals would be activated at the same time to help him deliver his attack.
He was more than three kilometers above ground. If he jumped down, he would need around half a minute to reach his target. This would make him miss his chance no matter how good of an opportunity presented itself to him.
While he could launch himself down to increase the speed of his descent, that wasn’t going to be enough.
Fortunately, he had another method at his disposal.
There were plenty of gaps around him, and he had learned the Flying Dragon Force from Chen Bitong, who had modified it. The mark included the way to move between gaps.
Chen Chuan needed stable gaps and a powerful, unique mental energy. He couldn’t do it on his own, but he had Hongfu with him right now, and he could use her power to do this.
Because of this, not only could he instantly travel a long distance, but he could also appear near the enemy abruptly.
He took a brief moment to sense the weak mental energy from below. Ferris Wheel’s active biosentient entity still had some strength left. The existence from the other world wasn’t going to make its move yet.
Hence, he still needed to wait.
The seconds ticked by. Almost twenty minutes had passed since Chen Chuan arrived above Ferris Wheel. The fight below was getting more intense, though Wu Qi’s mind was getting obviously weaker due to it repeatedly releasing its mental energy.
But it had to do this, because without the mental energy to intimidate them, the attacks of its enemies would grow fiercer and smoother. Then, Wu Qi would be defeated even sooner, so it had to keep pushing itself and using its mental energy.

Sentry Tower spoke up in the command center. “Safe Shield has sent a message. Wu Qi’s state has deteriorated, and its domain has largely been reduced. Unforeseen events might occur at any moment. Please get ready.”
Liang Guanghai’s expression turned stern. He knew that the chance they had been waiting for had finally arrived.
He checked his watch. It was 11:58 p.m..
Then, he turned to the screen. It showed the airship waiting in the air.
Anyone would find it a huge burden to have so many departments’ expectations placed on them and for such an important duty to be given to them. Even martial artists wouldn’t be able to stay calm.
If they felt too pressured by it, it would affect their performance.
Right now, he could only hope that Chen Chuan could handle the pressure and live up to the trust they placed on him.
***
Chen Chuan focused on the movements below while standing on the deck.
A reminder came from the command center. He could also sense it himself that the active biosentient entity’s mental energy was getting weaker.
He cast a glance at his second self. It was beginning to blur out, which meant that the existence from the other world was releasing its power and was about to take action.
Chen Chuan lifted the Frost King Saber and positioned it horizontally across from himself before removing the sheath and letting it fall on the deck. Then, he trained his eyes on the snow-white blade.
This should be his strongest opponent up to this point. He needed to gather all his power.
As if sensing his will, the blade started buzzing. Wisps of white fog spread out from it, and the bloodred line on the back turned bright.
A gust of wind blew so hard at him that his coat was blown open, and it even dragged his scarf off of him.
Chen Chuan sucked in a deep breath.
Boom!
White fog rose from his body.
Hongfu turned into red light and attached herself to him. She also conjured a wisp of red smoke to dance together with the white fog.
At the same time, Wu Qi released yet another powerful mental attack at Xu Chan’s team to stop them from cornering it.
All of them noticed that this attack was not as unbearable as the previous ones. They would even describe it as limp and powerless.
They perked up. Just as they wanted to rush at it again, the ground trembled violently, and they almost lost their footing. They retreated as a large shadow rose from the ground. Then, like a tidal wave, it covered Wu Qi’s body. In an instant, it wrapped itself around the active biosentient entity.
At the same time, an invisible wave of corruption spread outward to strip the world around them of all color until it was only black and white.
A terrifying sensation no words could describe spread dozens of kilometers around Ferris Wheel. The spinning Ferris wheel also transformed into something resembling a giant vortex. A piercing, blinding light spilled out of it.
Chen Chuan looked down, and he felt as if his eyes could see through the fog at that moment. With the saber in hand, he lowered his center of gravity, stomped down, and jumped.
