Chapter 375 True Demon versus Protectors part 1
Standing in that vast empty valley of blood, the demon kings and the heroes stood after the mysterious man vanished.
No one uttered a word for a while. They all stood, watching themselves. Their eyes told that they were not sure of what to do or how to go about it.
"Why are we standing here? We should be heading to where the demons are. We are the protectors of balance in this world," Storm yelled.
"I don't know anymore, Storm. Are we even going to make a difference if we go? A true demon is a being that existed at the birth of this world, a being immensely powerful, so much so it could wipe out kingdoms alone.
Their presence was so powerful that they had to be locked away to give our races a chance at life. For years, the heroes and the demon kings were supposed to be the ones that ensured this never happened. I guess we lost sight of that," Daegon said.
His words carried emotion. Everyone felt the pain and the fear hidden in his voice. There was no pride; it was plain old sadness and fear. Read the latest on My Virtual Library Empire
If there was anyone who knew how terrifying the demons were, it was he, a dragon. He had read the books, and he knew the truth.
"What are you demons scared of? You don't have to fear since they are your leaders. You can just follow them and have your victory," Storm said. This statement made the heroes look at the demon kings with questioning eyes.
What Storm had said was true. The followers of the demons should not be killed by the demons, right?
"That is not how it works, Storm. The other races were created to aid the demons, to fight with them. We didn't have a choice then; we were forced into it.
Now, after all this time, we are free from their control. There is no way they will let us live," Daegon said.
"Rather than focusing on what is not important, we should focus on one important thing—the World Tree," Elaine said. Her words pulled their attention.
When the figure spotted them down below, it shot downward and landed with a boom. A massive crater formed under the demon. It rose to its feet, standing at a towering ten feet tall. Its body was pure black and covered in scales.
In its hand was a sword so terrifying to look at. It was a one-edged blade that was an arm thick, with jagged blade teeth to rip through flesh.
The blade was black with red veins over it, pulsing and flowing. The guard of the blade was shaped into a skull with two horns like a demon.
The sword was six feet tall, the average height of a human, which made it a terrifying weapon. The true demon stabbed the sword into the ground and then stared at the group with all four eyes.
"Do you understand me?" he asked.
They were all reluctant to answer, but they felt if they disrespected this demon, it would not go well for them, so Storm spoke up.
"Yes, we do," Storm said. He did everything within his power to make sure he didn't look weak or scared.
"Hmmm, it is nice to see that over the years, language has not changed. Now, why do you humans give off that strange aura? It is repulsive.
It makes me remember the Celestials," the demon said and then grabbed his sword by the handle. He gripped it tightly, and all his eyes closed to slits.
The heroes were already filled with fright when they saw that. The demon's bloodlust started leaking out endlessly. It caused their hands to shiver, and their minds to get foggy.
Storm understood that they were sitting ducks now—lambs waiting for the slaughter—and he was not about to allow that to happen. He called for his sword from his ring.
His sword was a beautiful blade, straight and sharp. The interior of the blade was made of some sort of flexible blue material, and the edges were made with a silver-looking metal, covered in runes.
