402 AAhhaoooooauuuu
Looking at the necklace dangling from his neck, Kairen was sure that it was the same necklace he'd once worn as Reynold. There was the probability of it being another necklace that looked exactly the same as the one he'd seen as Little Reyn, but a feeling told him that it wasn't the case. The set of artifacts included two necklaces. While Kairen was sure that one was the one belonging to Reynold's mother, he was certain that the other one was made to look similar to this but failed miserably. Still, there was a difference to it compared to Reynold's necklace. He remembered how Reyn felt while being in touch with this necklace. He remembered the cozy, soothing sensation it brought with it to the touch, however, the necklace around his neck right now had a chaotic and ominous feeling to it, completely opposite to what Kairen expected.
Even though the feeling they gave off wasn't as Kairen expected, and the energy within them wasn't the kind that he remembered it to be, the power whirling within it was still useful to him. Wearing all the artifacts, Kairen exited the specially fortified building and walked to one of the training grounds that didn't have a ceiling. He had told everyone to stay away from him just in case something went wrong so he was all alone in the training ground, with the others watching him from the outside. The gates were silently dangling from the sky like colorful chandeliers made out of light itself. Kairen lowered his body and sat down on the ground. He sent one last look at the sky before closing his eyes. In his darkened vision, various lights were flowing around, flooding like river water. They started from the whirling dot above his head and spread around, forming the shape of a sphere inside Kairen's head, the spheric world that was cloaked in colored universal powers. In his mind, Kairen raised an imaginary hand and clenched the image that represented this world. The flow of power became mangled and shaken at his touch. He needed to suck these powers until they were reduced to small waterways instead of giant rivers. With that thought, Kairen activated the artifacts he was wearing. A flow of turbulent and chaotic energy rose up and engulfed his body. It seeped inside his soul, mixed up with the power he had, and added up to it. Kairen could feel sharp pain all over his body as if various small needles were digging up his flesh all at once. Kairen clenched his fists at the pain but didn't open his eyes. "Mmm..."
He could feel the energy moving towards him. One bit from all sources, a small percentage from all of the gates throughout this world, Kairen took a tiny amount from every one of them at once. The onlookers could see the gates, the massive portal-like object in the air, suddenly shaking and quivering. The things that were shimmering until a few seconds ago suddenly lost their luster like lamps being turned off, and the edges of them began to gradually lose all color and scatter around like dust. They were reduced in size and power in an instant, and not just one or two of them, but the whole gates that could be seen in the area and even the ones being displayed through various monitors in front of them. All of the gates had shrunk and become weaker in the blink of an eye. "Hah!" The black-haired blue-eyed man scoffed as he messed his hair with a hand. "I have to work hard to find an explanation for this. All of the other countries will be on our throats soon." @@@@
Still, he'd do his best to keep things a secret. That was his responsibility as a commander. He was glad that he trusted this boy and allowed him to do what came to his mind. Crack
"Yiipiee~"
The boy jumped up and down, excitedly ordering his books and clothes while questioning his mister about their destination. After they were finally done building this structure, Mister Roy suddenly decided to move to another place. Reyn had thought that they'd live here forever, but that didn't seem to be the case. However, he was really liking the idea of traveling with mister Roy. It was bound to be super exciting. "Mister, mister, can I visit my family once again before we leave this place?"
"..." Roy paused ordering his notes and sent the child a complicated gaze. "Are you really okay with leaving this place? You might never be able to come back nor visit their graves."
A while ago, Reyn asked his mister if he could build proper graves for his family. He wasn't sure if anything remained of them or if he could locate their corpses anymore, but he just made the request. Roy accepted the request without any opposition and helped him build nice graves for his family members. They would go to pay their respects to the deceased from time to time. "Yeah, mister, they are dead, but you are alive. I'd rather follow you than stick to them," Reyn declared proudly. "Plus, they are always with me anyway!"
The red-haired man's gaze, locked on the child, fluctuated with a warm yet empathetic emotion for a brief second. "Do whatever you want."
