The Genius Mage Was Reincarnated Into A Swordsman Family

Chapter 43 - 43

Chapter 43 - 43

Roman Lionhart and Melo, his most trusted man, couldn’t believe what they just heard—especially Roman. He knew better than anyone the condition his grandson was in. Just a month ago, resisting a small fraction of his aura had left Klaus in terrible shape. What Roman admired most about Klaus was his resilience. Despite his bad condition, Klaus never backed down while talking to him and still resisted his oppressive aura—a feat beyond anyone in Klaus’s condition.

As much as he wanted to believe Erina’s statement, he knew very well the capabilities of his other grandson, Alex Lionhart. Alex’s growth was unprecedented in Lionhart’s history. At just twelve years of age, he had already achieved a Green core. Nicholas Davoss, not part of the Lionhart direct or collateral line but from a vassal family, was equally a monster in Roman’s eyes. So, for Erina to say that his sick grandson managed to outperform these two growing geniuses sounded like a bad joke in Roman’s ears.

"I don’t appreciate stupid jokes, especially those made within these walls," Roman said with a cold tone that changed the room temperature to almost zero degrees Celsius (34F). With just a wave of his hand, both Erina and Rick started to levitate into the air, as if an invisible hand held them.

"It’s not a joke, my lor-rd," Rick tried to say. Erina couldn’t even talk anymore because of the pressure holding her so tight; she even had a hard time breathing.

"Rick, you are also a Lionhart, so you know the price you will pay if you keep saying bullsh*t," Roman said, his tone turning the room even colder. Frostbite started to spread on Rick and Erina’s bodies.

"It’s t-the t-truth, my lord; I will never dare to lie to you," Rick said, trying to stay conscious as the invisible pressure holding him became tighter.

"My lord, please, at least let them explain," Melo implored, bowing his head to Roman.

"..." Roman didn’t say anything but released the invisible pressure that was holding them into the air. Both Rick and Erina, seasoned sword users, fell while regaining their balance.

"Tell me more," Roman said, looking at Rick. Erina seemed still to be in the position where she couldn’t talk normally; the invisible pressure that Roman released was holding her by her neck. Now that the pressure was released, she bore visible red marks in the shape of fingers around her neck, proof of the intense pressure she endured.

"Wait a moment," Roman said, causing both Erina and Rick to freeze.

"Take this," Roman said while waving his finger that was still on the armrest of his golden throne. Two vials flew in mid-air and dropped on Erina and Rick’s hands.

’Healing potions and high-grade ones,’ Rick thought while examining the vial in his hand.

"It’s a high-grade healing potion," Rick said, thinking that Erina couldn’t make sense of what she was holding.

They both gave a deep bow to Roman and left the audience Chamber.

After a few minutes to get his thoughts into order, Melo opened his mouth.

"My lord, if it is really true that Young Master Klaus is healed, you should probably pay more attention to him. After what happened at his sword selection ceremony, I have a feeling that he will accomplish great things."

"He certainly will."

Roman let a small smile evade his mouth again. What he liked most was for people to express the greatness of his grandchildren. Even if he was cold towards all his sons, except for Raphael, he had a very soft spot for all his grandchildren and Klaus in particular. He reminded him too much of himself; they both had silver hair and blue eyes, just like their founding ancestor. This proved that, just like their founding ancestor, they were born to accomplish great things.
