The Genius Mage Was Reincarnated Into A Swordsman Family

Chapter 85 - 85

Chapter 85 - 85

"Yes," Mary-Claire continued, her smile widening, revealing a hint of excitement. "Word travels fast, especially when someone as young as you achieves such feats. I’m here to see if the rumors are true."

Klaus sighed, feeling a mixture of annoyance and curiosity. "And what if they are?"

"If they are true... hmm..." Mary-Claire’s face started to blush and turn red, a rosy hue spreading across her cheeks.

"What’s with your face all of a sudden?" Klaus asked, his tone growing more irritated, a slight frown forming on his forehead.

Mary-Claire, unable to handle the embarrassment any longer, turned on her heel and ran off inside the annex mansion, her footsteps echoing in the quiet corridor.

Klaus watched her retreat with a dumbfounded expression. "What’s wrong with kids these days?" he muttered, standing up from his lotus position. He began walking slowly, his mind racing with thoughts about the unexpected visitor, and followed the girl inside the mansion.

’She is quite beautiful; she looks strangely familiar,’ Klaus thought to himself as he walked through the grand hallway adorned with ornate tapestries and paintings. When he entered the spacious atrium of the annex mansion, he was taken aback to see three more unfamiliar faces standing next to Mary-Claire.

Two more girls stood beside her, each possessing an otherworldly beauty. The first had golden hair that cascaded down her back in lustrous waves, and golden eyes that shone with an almost ethereal light. Her skin was flawless, with a warm, sun-kissed glow. She wore a regal dress of deep blue velvet, adorned with intricate gold embroidery that accentuated her royal bearing. The second girl had hair as white as freshly fallen snow, cascading down her shoulders like a silken waterfall. Her ruby-red eyes were striking against her porcelain skin, giving her an almost ethereal appearance. She wore a dress of pure white, with silver accents that shimmered in the light, giving her an aura of icy elegance.

Next to them stood a boy who appeared to be at least two years older than Klaus. He had striking green hair that seemed to shimmer under the light, and his eyes were a matching shade of vibrant green, filled with a mixture of arrogance and curiosity. He was a few centimeters shorter than Klaus but stood with an air of confidence that made him seem taller. He wore a finely tailored outfit of dark green and black, with a family crest emblazoned on his chest, hinting at his noble lineage.

"Oh my! What a beautiful face you have," the girl with golden hair exclaimed, covering her mouth with a delicate hand, her eyes wide with admiration.

"You are right, Briana; how can a boy be this good-looking?" the girl with snow-white hair said, her piercing red eyes locked onto Klaus, as if trying to decipher his secrets.

Klaus glanced at Elisabeth and the maids standing behind the group of four, but none could provide an answer. Instead, they wore awkward expressions, clearly as bewildered as he was.

’What’s going on here?’ Klaus thought before interrupting the girl named Briana, who was chatting with the girl with white hair.

"Who are you people?" Klaus asked, his tone authoritative and cold, a commanding presence that made the newcomers hesitate.

"Tsk! At least this rumor is true; you really have no manners," the boy with green eyes said, his voice dripping with disdain.

Klaus raised an eyebrow and said in a cold, low voice, "Can you repeat that?"

"I’m Faris Le Zagerfield, heir candidate of the Zagerfield Clan," Faris announced proudly, puffing out his chest.

Klaus looked at Faris and Mary-Claire with a calm expression, masking his true feelings. ’Judging by his hair color, he must be someone the clan adopted into the main branch because they deemed him promising, just like me in my past life, Klaus Zagerfield. But that girl is probably Damien’s daughter, and since she is this striking, she is likely the daughter of Damien’s first wife, Lilian La Fleur.’

After regaining his composure, Klaus asked firmly, "And what are children from such prestigious clans and families doing so far from home?"

"You see, the rumors about you are getting out of hand, so the patriarch has personally asked me to escort my sister here to confirm them," Faris said with an eccentric tone, his green eyes gleaming with a hint of mischief.

’In conclusion, you are just an escort,’ Klaus thought but said, "I see. And you?" he asked, shifting his gaze to Briana and Helene.

"My father was impressed by the rumors about you, so he sent me here to see if you are worthy of being my husband," Briana said with an embarrassed look, her golden eyes avoiding Klaus’s intense gaze.

"Same for me and her," Helene added, pointing to Mary-Claire, her ruby-red eyes reflecting a mixture of curiosity and determination.

Klaus blinked, trying to process the information. Three girls from prestigious families, all here because of rumors about him. It was almost too much to take in. He rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

"So, let me get this straight," Klaus began, his tone exasperated. "You all traveled here, to my home, because of some rumors about me?"

"Precisely," Briana said, her confidence returning. "Our fathers want to ensure that you are as remarkable as the stories suggest. And, if you are, they want to secure alliances with your family."

Klaus sighed, realizing the political implications of their visit. "And what if the rumors are true?" he asked, his voice laced with a hint of sarcasm.

"Then we shall see," Helene replied, her eyes narrowing slightly. "We have been sent to observe you, to learn from you, and to see if you truly are someone worth allying with."

Klaus couldn’t help but chuckle at the absurdity of the situation. "Very well," he said, his tone softening. "You may stay and observe. But understand this: I won’t be a pawn in your families’ games."

The girls nodded, their expressions serious. Faris, however, still looked unconvinced. "We’ll see if you can back up those words," he muttered, his green eyes gleaming with challenge.

Klaus ignored him, turning to Elisabeth and the maids. "Prepare rooms for our guests," he instructed, his tone brooking no argument.

As the maids scurried off to fulfill his orders, Klaus took a deep breath, preparing himself for the days ahead. He had no idea what to expect from his unexpected guests, but one thing was certain: his life was about to get a lot more complicated.
