Chapter 463 176 Chapter: Setting Foot in the Lush Summer Forest

Chapter 463 176 Chapter: Setting Foot in the Lush Summer Forest

After returning to Jade Skirt, Hexia stayed at Edith Academy for only two days before she came to Yuanting Academy in the Northern First District.@@@@

Compared to the bustling Edith Academy, where many gazes converged, this place was more leisurely and quiet, allowing her to avoid the fervent outside attention and have a rather relaxed and enriching summer vacation.

During the holidays, with most students home, the academy also became much quieter.

"So, where do you two plan to go for a walk today?" the girl asked in the dormitory, looking at the two big fellows in front of the floor. One of them was the fluffy wolf spider that had grown larger, and the other was a Sunlight Snake with indigo scales.

Since the Indigo Snake had grown, it could now hold its own against the giant spider, and it was not falling behind in their competition for affection.

Watching the two fellows so eager in front of her, the girl retreated a step.

"Cut it out, you two are getting too big to climb on me like you used to," the girl shook her finger, indicating that it wasn't allowed.

The two fellows felt very saddened and distressed by Hexia's response. Why had their little master become less affectionate towards them after coming back from a trip?

The Indigo Snake raised its head, half its body coiling on the ground, then its tail gently swayed, pointing towards the distant outside the balcony. The gem on its forehead twinkled.

"Do you want to see the three ducklings? They should have grown up by now. It's about time we paid them a visit," the girl understood what the Indigo Snake was thinking.

The big spider blinked its eyes, then circled around the girl. Just as it was about to leap, a hand pressed down on its head, catching it.

"You can't outpace me now," compared to half a year ago, Hexia was just a step away from reaching Sequence 5 and could now keep up with the speed of the giant spider.

After stopping the giant spider's mischievous idea, the girl held it in her arms to prevent it from causing more trouble, then she and the Indigo Snake went to the balcony.

From the Ring Bird Wind Tower, one could overlook the rolling mountains and forests behind it, with several small lakes hidden within.

Standing on the balcony of the high tower, the girl jumped down, holding the giant spider. The wind and air currents rushed by her ears, and the coolness of summer revitalized her. Then, she softly murmured a curse spell. A faint white glow overflowed from her body, and as her rapidly falling body became lighter, she drifted towards the distant forest like a leaf, until her toes lightly touched the treetops. She leaped again and then landed on the grassy glade amidst the woods.

"Don't fight; there's plenty more." Seeing the ducklings scramble on the ground, the girl soothed them and took out more to feed them.

Although her pockets were limited, her storage space was filled with many things, and with no outsiders or surveillance around, she was free to take things out at will.

After feeding the ducklings and the larger ducks, Hexia stood back up, shook the bell to signal there was no more left.

"Quack quack quack~" After circling the girl a few times, the three large ducks returned to the lakeside. Then, they entered the water one by one and led a fleet of ducklings swimming on the lake, occasionally pecking at the tiny fish.

Their light orange feet stirred the water, while the clear lake revealed gently swaying weeds and occasionally large black fish swam by before disappearing into the depths of the lake.

It was really pleasant, resting against a tree while sitting down, Hexia listened to the rustling leaves in the woods, feeling an unusual tranquility. Far from the noisy, contentious network and away from the complex society with its many rules, everything seemed to slow down in this secluded mountain forest and lakeside—she could even count the particles of dust dancing in the sunshine.

Leaning against the tree for a nap, leaves occasionally fell, landing among the girl's skirt and hair strands, joining her in her dreams.

In the following month, Hexia spent her time strolling and relaxing in the mountains or learning about the abilities and knowledge related to being a Songstress from her ghost teacher.

Whenever she practiced her musical instruments, she was in these deserted mountains, where she could express herself freely, without fear of disturbing others or being overheard in her unpolished performance, allowing her to focus on learning wholeheartedly.

By the time August arrived, the online discussions about her gradually cooled down, and Hexia had slowly grown accustomed to her identity as a Songstress within that month.

Although she wasn't yet of age, she had already started to receive partnership letters from major corporations, as well as invitations to some large events in Jade Skirt and even several emails from the Four-leaf Crystal Star Domain government, inquiring whether she was available to attend official events and competitions organized by the government as a guest.

As a Songstress, she had no actual position within the Star Domain government, but she was able to initiate proposals like a council member and express her ideas, proposals that, as long as they didn't involve sensitive areas, were mostly unopposed.

However, as a matter of custom, Songstresses generally did not exercise this power and delve into the political realm, only participating in such debates and promotions under rare and special circumstances.

"At the beginning, you'd better focus on your learning and improvement, and not get involved in anything too complex," the Ghost Princess on the frozen lake suggested to Hexia.

"Regarding music and Songstress-related abilities, you've only just begun, and you can't always rely on talent to surpass others. Doing so will make it difficult for you to grow and improve."

So throughout the whole holiday, Hexia immersed herself in learning and addressing her weaknesses, until halfway through August. The scorching summer breeze gradually faded away, and the refreshing autumn arrived slowly.
