Chapter 131 131: Easy boost
Chapter 131 131: Easy boost
Asmadeas felt an acidic fluid making its way up from her throat. Immediately backing away, she covered her mouth with a handkerchief as if she was back in the underground training facility.
"I'm sure father's gift is only meant for you, and besides, you need the boost more than me." she made up an excuse on the spot.
For Lionheart, he had a similar feeling, yet he was willing to look over the origins of the pink slush, for the sake of becoming stronger.
Training one's blessing was a relatively straightforward task, but training to build up one's essence supply was the most tedious job, where some people find themselves stuck in at times.
But that can all be avoided with just a drink, even if it's a small boost, that small boost would amount to at least a year of constant rigorous training!
Lionheart felt a bit envious as he stood near the drink, but that was all for Elizabeth. And so he simply swallowed his saliva and pretended that it was the drink instead.
The wide living room became quiet as Elizabeth stood in place without moving. Without a word, she called for someone on her phone before heading towards the comfortable sofa to take a quick nap.
"!" Her sister twitched the corners of her eyes, Elizabeth had the habit of not explaining the strange things she does sometimes and up until now, Elizabeth still hasn't gotten used to it.
All Asmadeas could do now was sit beside her and wait.
For the bodyguard, he had long gotten used to this after watching over the sisters for more than a decade.
After around half an hour, there was a knock at the door.
Before Lionheart could answer it, Elizabeth gave the visitor permission, "come in." Her voice permeated through the entrance.
The door silently glided outwards, a well-dressed man with a suited vest stepped out, his dark hair and sharp jawline gave off a sense of nobility and uneasiness to whoever meets him.
"Bartender?" Lionheart was pleasantly surprised, the last time he saw Bartender was when he drank the beverages his friend had made.
"Mister Lionheart, Miss Elizabeth." He greeted, "Miss Asmadeas."
Asmadeas hid her face behind her sister and gave off a disappointed look, why was she addressed last?
As soon as Elizabeth stood up, her sister relaxed her expression.
Walking to the food tray, and lifting the cloche, Elizabeth presented the pink slush to the Bartender. "Can you replicate this?"
Bartender walked towards the mysterious beverage, and leaned over to see it, then smell it, then dipping his pinky in the slush.
"...Bring me something to store the liquid, I'll try."
Lionheart, who was watching nearby, almost gasped in surprise.
Despite the idea being so simple, the Bartender's blessing was truly extraordinary.
"I'll get them." Lionheart said, he went towards the kitchen area of Elizabeth's home and came back with around 6 glass mugs, three in each of his hands.
He settled them beside the glass of pink slush and stepped back to observe the Bartender do his job.
Bartender analyzed the drink once more, with all means necessary, including a few light sips.
"My blessing requires more information, tell me more about this drink."
"It's the concentrated essence extract of a dragon in its fetus stage." Elizabeth replied.
. . .
Bartender didn't have a strong reaction, he merely pinched his chin in profound thought. "Oh, so it's one of those exotic drinks. It's like the drinks made usually from the blood of different kinds of animals, such as-
"We understand what you mean," Asmadeas said, covering her mouth from the thought of drinking blood.
Bartender cleared his throat, "I got a bit carried away, regardless, what Miss Elizabeth said was enough."
He clawed his hands and grabbed the rims on one of the empty mugs and a pink-colored slush slowly dripped from the center of his palm.
It took an entire 5 minutes to fill up one mug, still, the Bartender filled all 6 glass mugs.
At the end, he looked almost disheveled and drained of life. "That's all I can muster today, I think."
7 total glasses of dragon essence extract.
Lionheart swallowed his dry saliva, the drinks before him is enough to buy a building similar to Elizabeth's.
Not to mention, the Bartender could create more if he wished, all he needed was time to rest!
Bartender sighed, "is Miss Fixer here somewhere? I hope that she can cure me of my ailment."
Elizabeth shook her head but did not reply any further. Instead, she grabbed one of the mugs and chugged down the entire pink slush.
She looked at her sister and Lionheart, and silently urged them to drink.
After almost 10 minutes of swallowing every last drop, Asmadeas almost had the urge to vomit on the floor. "Sis... I don't even feel a difference."
Lionheart checked his body, "Me too, I don't doubt the foundation's expertise of medicine, but could this be a fake?"
"But it's certainly sweet, surprisingly." Bartender commented.
Elizabeth stood in silence and constantly checked her essence, compared to the three around her, she was much more talented in the control of essence, as such, she could see the qualitative change of their essence.
By just a small amount, their essence was now more refined, and simply more in general.
In theory, their blessing effectiveness should have gotten the same qualitative change.
There was now 3 drinks left.
Elizabeth was quick to arrange the handing out of these precious extracts. "Lionheart, send these to Fixer, Tailor and his brother."
She then looked at bartender. "Tomorrow, I need you to produce at least 20 batches."
There was a small drop of sweat that slid over the Bartender's forehead. But since his salary was now under Elizabeth, he had to fulfill his duties.
"May I have one request?" He suddenly said. "Would you build a bar in the lobby of this building, just for me?"
Without a hint of care in her voice, Elizabeth softly nodded and said, "Sure."
She then turned to Lionheart, "Deal with it for me."
Lionheart held back his sigh and simply nodded in response. "Of course."
"Good. I'll be heading out in an hour, prepare."
After the ordeal, the two sisters left the room and left the two men to their own space.
"...a bar huh? If you know my mistress' wealth, you might as well could've asked for a mansion." Lionheart awkwardly smiled.
Bartender smiled in response, "I don't need it, serving good people their needs brings me more than enough to live."
He wasn't lying, if Bartender wanted to become rich, he would've created molten gold from his palm a long time ago.
Then, the dark-haired Bartender asked a question, "if serving people the best drink is my life's goal, what's yours?"
All of a sudden, Lionheart became a bit flustered, "actually I... want to become a knight of sorts."
Bartender broke into a light chuckle. "That's indeed fantastic, is this the cause of the friction between your friends or coworkers?"
"How did you know?"
"A woman I know is good at reading people, let's say that I learned a thing or two from her after a while of serving her alcohol." Bartender smiled as he recalled a gun-slinging woman. "Perhaps you need some alcohol to cure your problem?"
Lionheart raised his palm, "I can't drink on the job, sorry."
