Chapter 168 Finishing Off The Assassins
Chapter 168 Finishing Off The Assassins
I tightened my grip on my shotgun as the blade guy in front of me suddenly disappeared from view.
Trusting my instincts that were telling me about something approaching me from the left, I didn't even look as I fired my shotgun in that direction.
There was a gasp of surprise and I turned to see the blade guy leaping away from me, the remnants of his shield in the midst of breaking apart after protecting him from that shot.
He did not have time to rest and leapt away just as Lea's bullet pierced through where he was just a moment ago.
He then reappeared a short distance away and even though his head was covered, I could tell he was quite pissed.
He then disappeared once again and the feeling came from the right this time.@@@@
I leapt towards my left and fired my shotgun to the right, only for pain to blossom from my left arm.
I fell to the ground and found a slash wound on my upper arm, blood already pouring out of said wound.
The blade guy appeared hiding behind a metal crate, using it as cover to hide from Lea while his hand was wrapped around his side.
Seems like both of us got wounded in that exchange, though he got a more serious wound than mine.
He turned his gaze towards me and raised his other arm, causing another blade to pop out as well.
I raised my shotgun to point in his direction, only for him to disappear once more and the feeling to come directly from above.
I shifted my shotgun and fired above me without hesitation while simultaneously leaping back.
There was a loud clang as his blade struck the ground at where I had been.
It seems like the only reason he missed me was because he had to avoid getting shot.

I rolled backwards into a crouch, lifting up my gun to point at the blade guy once again.
I did not even manage to lift my gun up fully before I found myself looking at the lunging form of the blade guy, his arm blades moments from skewering me.
The world seemed to move in slow motion as I watched the blades on his arms get closer and closer towards me.
My hands were moving before I even realised they were and I somehow managed to let go of my shotgun to pull out my vibration knife, using it to parry his arm blades away from me.
I didn't have time to wonder how I even managed to accomplish that since the guy had lifted his other arm into the air to slash down at me.
I swung my knife and parried the blow away, the blow causing him to stumble to the side.
He spun towards me and raised both his arms before thrusting them down towards my chest, aiming to skewer me with them.
She pointed at the machine gun guy and I wondered what she needed from his corpse.
Instead of questioning it, I stood up to let her lean on me before I half carried and half dragged her over to the dead assassin.
Amber then reached down and kicked him over onto his back with her foot before reaching down to rummage through the pouch on his waist.
She then pulled out a rather familiar spray bottle before she used it to spray over her side, creating a foam that quickly solidified over the wound.
She let out a sigh of relief, "Ahhh... That's better. I'm alive again~"
"If that's all you needed, I could have just done that as well, you know? I have a few of those as well," I pointed out.
She giggled, "Ehehehe~ So do I, but why make use of our own resources when we can make use of the other's right?"
There's no need to be so stingy with these kinds of things, Amber... But I'm still concerned about something else though...
"Does this help with the infection problem?" I asked.
"Of course," Amber answered immediately.
Well... Alright then...
Amber chuckled, "Don't worry Tera, I'm pretty hardy and hard to kill. I've done a lot worse before I met you so this is nothing."
"That doesn't mean you should make it a habit. You didn't even need to dig the bullet out, we could have just gone to one of the clinics around here and get you patched up."
"Oh alright, mommy. I'll be sure to let you take care of me next time, mommy~"
I gave her a smack on the head for that.
At that point, Lea had joined us while hugging her sniper rifle to her chest, the Alv looking a little concerned.
"Forgive me for the terrible support I gave earlier, Captain."
"Eh? What are you talking about? That was pretty good wasn't it?"
She shook her head, "No, I did not manage to shoot the last one before he managed to get you. If I was just a little faster, he would not have been able to even hit you."
As though only just remembering about it, Amber let out a gasp, "Oh no!! How could I have completely forgotten about that?! Wait, wait, wait!!"
She quickly dug through her own pouch and brought out the same spray bottle which she immediately used to spray over the wound on my arm.
Even after the foam solidified, she was fussing over me and asking if I hurt or it was not enough.
Geez Amber... Just who is the mother now huh?
On second thought... Don't answer that... Let's just start looting already, ok?
