Chapter 215 They Gamble On Everything Here
Chapter 215 They Gamble On Everything Here
Initially I thought to go and check out their poker tables until I found another fenced off area as I was heading to that area that caught my attention.
This area was far larger than the previous one I saw and it seemed to take up almost half of the gambling area.
"What's that?" I asked, pointing at said area.
Lea tapped on her personal terminal which I guessed was her searching up information on that place.
"It seems like that's the sex gambling area," She told me with a straight face.
I'm sorry... The what area?
Lea looked at me and repeated, "That's the sex gambling area, Captain."
Ok... That doesn't exactly explain anything... What exactly is that place supposed to do? Do they use sex as a currency to make bets or what?
Fuck it, let's just go take a look.
I headed towards that area and crossed through the doorway that separated this 'sex gambling area' from the rest of the place.
As soon as I passed the threshold the sound of moans, catcalls and other lewd sounds immediately reached my ears.
I didn't notice this with the bot arena earlier but it seems like the fence had the added effect of keeping the noise contained within that area. I guess they were doing this to prevent the noises from these areas from disturbing the other patrons?
I would definitely be pissed if some random cheering caused me to misplace my bets or distracted me from my poker game.
But looking around, I quickly realised what a sex gambling area was...
There were what looked like boxing arenas where the contestants were wrestling or fighting in the nude; Arenas where both males and females were wrestling with each other in either a pit of colourful or clear liquid; Couches with fairly attractive women and men sitting on it where you made bets on how long you could last before either the women made you cum or you make the man cum.
I looked at my companions and each of them had a different expression on their faces.
Amber was looking at the place with interest, but more like because she was seeing something new and intriguing instead of thinking it was actually something she wanted to do.
Lea did not hide the look of contempt on her face and I already knew she didn't particularly like gambling so she must just be disappointed that they could even find such ways to gamble as well.
On the other hand, Ries was quite nonchalant about the sight and seemed to be more interested in the light fence that we had just passed through instead. If I had to guess, she's probably thinking of how it worked and maybe how to take it apart or something.
As for me... Well... I guess I'm just surprised that something like this even exists.
No wait... I don't think I am... I already know that things like this existed back in my own universe, it's just that I never actually saw them for myself before. So I'm more surprised by the fact that this has become commonplace enough that it's so easily accessible.
Well... I guess if people like that owner of this station had a choice of being able to utilise more ways to earn more money, he would.
I was just thinking about returning back to the normal gambling area when Amber grabbed my arm to point ahead.
Oh wow, that's a lot of money...
But assuming that they're making use of the participants' entry fees to pool into the prize money... That means there's over two hundred participants already?
Lea looked at Ries, "Are there any runner up prizes?"
"Hmm... It does not look like it."
Amber grinned, "Looks like it's either you win everything or you lose everything eh? I like that! Let's join it, Tera! We'll definitely win!"
I don't know about winning but... We could definitely join it I guess?
After all... I've played those games in my old universe before so wouldn't it be ironic that I would then be playing a game within a game?
Then again, on the multiplayer version of the game, there were battle royale tournaments like this too so this would put me right in my element.
I turned to Ries, "Is there a limit to the number of people that can form a group?"
"Umm... It looks like the maximum is four people, Boss."
"And do you have a map of the arena or does it change every time?"
Ries tapped on her personal terminal for a while before handing it to me, "They have a few maps that they use in rotation... But you won't know which map they would be using until you are dropped in yourself."
I inspected the page which showed a total of twelve different maps that they would use for this competition."
"When is the next one happening?" I asked.
Amber looked up from her own personal terminal where she had also been looking through the rules, "Coincidentally, the next one would be happening in a few hours! We still have time to register ourselves as a participant and compete!"
That would put us at a disadvantage then... Since there's bound to be people who would have studied the maps extensively and knew where the best loot might be to equip themselves as well as the best places to set up killzones or ambush spots.
I'll only have time to glance through the maps and then improvise as we go...
Well, I'm no stranger to such things and we have nothing to lose anyway so I guess it's worth a shot.
Even if we lose, it would barely make a dent in that five million Credits that guy gave us. And if we did win, then that's even more money we could use to buy that new ship of ours.
I see absolutely no down sides in joining this competition.
I turned to my three companions and grinned, "Shall we go and join the battle royale and win it?"
All three of them gave me a confident nod.
Alright! Let's go be champions then!
