Supreme Hunter of Beautiful Souls

Chapter 3 A baby discovering the world.

Chapter 3 A baby discovering the world.

The weeks passed quickly, and now little Kael found himself once again with Elion in the city, surrounded by an atmosphere he could barely understand.

"It seems like I've been transported to the past, to a completely archaic world... There's no sign of technology here," Kael reflected, while being carried by Elion, who kept him safe in a cloth tied to her body. He felt more like a burden than a baby, but he couldn't deny that this solution made things easier, especially when his mother needed to eat quickly.

Who was he trying to fool? He was enjoying being pressed against his mother's large, juicy breasts.

"Don't think about it..." He said, shifting his focus to other things.

He watched the busy market around him, filled with stalls and shops selling all kinds of goods, but what really caught his attention were the people moving about. Many men and women were armed to the teeth, with long swords, imposing axes, and heavy armor that seemed made to withstand even the fiercest of enemies.

"This... it's like those starting cities in RPGs," Kael thought, his mind trying to understand the scene.

Everything seemed like a medieval fantasy setting, with the touch of an unknown and vast universe, full of mysteries and dangers.

He felt a mix of fascination and discomfort, especially noticing that the people around him, with their serious and focused looks, weren't there just to shop.

The tension in the air was palpable, as if a fight could break out at any moment, as if the city was always on the verge of something grand, but also dangerous.

"These people seem prepared for anything. Do they live like this all the time?" Kael wondered, trying to absorb as much as possible of the new reality he now inhabited.

"I must be overthinking it... especially because of that goddess..."

"Good elixirs for resistance, only two copper coins!" He heard a merchant shout, announcing his prices.

"Elixirs... I know a lot of games that use this... it really is like an RPG," Kael commented as he felt his mother finally stop walking.

"How are you? Are you enjoying seeing a new landscape? When you grow up, you'll probably come here often. It's good to familiarize yourself with the adventurers and what's going on in this place," Elion commented while settling on a bench in the main square, her gaze calm and observant, as if absorbing everything around her.

Kael, still confused in his baby body, couldn't fully keep up with the conversation. "Honestly... I don't know what I'm doing..." She suddenly said, looking at the movement in the square, as if those words carried a weight greater than he could understand at that moment.

Before he could react or ask any questions, a voice cut through the air, interrupting them.

"Well, if it isn't the whore who killed Vendrick..."

Kael turned his gaze, following the direction of the voice, and saw a group of men, with hostile expressions, approaching. Elion, beside him, reacted with a coldness Kael didn't expect, murmuring with disgust: "Ah... filthy trash..."

She stood up slowly, and the change in her posture was almost instantaneous. The lightness with which she held him transformed into an unexpected strength, as if she were someone else. The calmness from before had disappeared, replaced by a palpable tension.

Kael felt the aura around Elion shift drastically, and what had seemed like a simple conversation was now turning into a high-risk situation. The tension in the air was palpable, and Kael's survival instincts, still immature in his baby body, triggered in alert.

Elion, with an almost imperceptible smile, slid his hand across the blade, pushing it aside with ease. Without giving him any chance to react, it came down quickly, its movements flowing like a serpent towards the knight in front of him. The man didn't even have time to raise his guard.

In the blink of an eye, she raised her other hand, transforming it into a blade of pure dark energy. With one swift, brutal movement, she cut the man's neck, the blade slicing through his flesh like butter. Blood gushed out, hot and thick, spreading through the air and painting the streets a scarlet red.

The man's body fell backwards, inert, his head rolling beside his torso like a macabre ball. His eyes were still open, reflecting the sheer terror of his last fraction of a second of life. But the carnage hadn't stopped there.

With inhuman ferocity, Elion turned his body, the energy blade firing like an extension of his will. The one who had thrown the sword at her was the next to be hit. The blade sliced through his belly with astonishing speed, the flesh splitting apart and the intestines falling out, dripping through the man's fingers as he screamed in agony.

He tried to back away, but before he could take a single step, Elion grabbed him by the neck with crushing force. In one brutal movement, she lifted him off the ground, her cold eyes fixed on his, and then, with a violent twist, there was a snap, like a twig breaking, and the man was left lifeless.

The rest of the attackers tried to regroup, but Elion gave them no time. In a burst of energy, she lunged at the next one, a blade of pure darkness forming in her hand. The blade cut through flesh and bone as if they were weak tissue. The man's scream of horror echoed through the square as his head flew away from his body, the expression of pain still marked on his face.

The others were panicking now, trying to flee, but Elion caught up with them with supernatural speed. She didn't let them get away. A sharp blow went through the chest of one, another had his arm torn from his body with one fluid movement, blood gushing out like a fountain, as the man fell to the ground in a pool of his own blood.

It was true carnage. There was no mercy, no hesitation. The fear that had once gripped the attackers had turned to despair, but it was too late. They were just meat to be torn apart by a ruthless predator.

Finally, only one man remained. He was trembling, his eyes fixed on Elion, his breathing heavy, trying to gather enough of his courage to fight or flee. But there was no escape. She approached slowly, with measured steps and an eerie calm.

"You... who the hell do you think you are to challenge me?" Elion whispered, her voice as cold as ice, her eyes fixed on his.

With a simple gesture, she raised her hand and made a move. The man was instantly lifted off the ground, as if bound by invisible chains. He tried to struggle, but his arms were immobilized, his body paralyzed by the witch's overwhelming force.

"You should have stayed still." She muttered, and then, with a single movement, the force of her will crushed the man's body in a brutal snap. The sound was horrible, flesh breaking, bones snapping like dry twigs.

And then he was thrown to the ground, lifeless, along with the other bodies. Elion took a step back, observing the carnage around him with a blank stare.

"More bodies, more dead..." She muttered.

Then she heard a small cry and looked down at her chest... seeing... her son completely covered in blood.

"Oh shit... I forgot."
