Rebirth in Another World as the Undead Queen

Chapter 202 : It's You!

Chapter 202 : It's You!

It's You!"Hurry, it's just up ahead!"

Astor shouted, while a squad of Holy Knights followed behind. In the distance, the outline of a wooden building gradually came into view.

"Ka ka ka!"

Suddenly, ten skeletons emerged from both sides of the path, holding spears and seeking to block their way. These skeletons might be troublesome for ordinary people, but for Lilith and her group...

A Holy Knight started chanting, then seized a sphere of holy light power in his hand. The holy light transformed into a light spear and shot forward.

Boom!

When the light spear hit the ground, it exploded; surging holy light power engulfed the skeletons, and the soul fire in their eye sockets was extinguished in an instant as soon as it came into contact with the light.

"There are undead here—looks like we're in the right place."

Lilith spoke as the group stepped past the remnants of the skeletons to the front of the wooden house.

But to call this place a chapel...

"Are you sure you didn't make a mistake?"

Lilith sounded dubious—the shabby wooden structure before them hardly matched any notion of a "chapel."

"Yes, lady Lilith. You have to remember, not everyone can build such grand chapels as we do,"

Astor explained, though Lilith remained unconvinced, until more skeletons appeared.

Skeletons wielding spears and rusty swords surrounded the chapel, while dozens more appeared around the knights—there were at least a hundred, though their average level was only 9.

Surrounded by so many skeletons, lilith merely gave them an indifferent glance.

"Humans outside, listen up—leave immediately, or you will pay the price!"

It was Julie's voice. Noticing the hostile group charging towards them, she knew their object was clearly the chapel and decided she had to resist—in this forest, weakness was not an option.

Her plan was to scare them off, then alert Leklis to relocate the chapel. But she didn't know the people outside were far different from the usual outsiders and ordinary adventurers she was used to. Her resistance only exposed her...

"Are you the one controlling these undead?"

Lilith asked. On hearing the woman's voice, julie felt it sounded familiar... That voice...

"Queen Serea, it's you!"

Through the window, julie caught sight of the woman outside and shouted out excitedly.

But this exclamation left the Holy Knights dumbfounded. Queen Serea—what was that?

After hearing the title, lilith narrowed her eyes at the attic window.

"What did you call me?"

"Queen Serea—aren't you?"

Julie was puzzled; that kind of beauty was unforgettable, and the woman outside was clearly Queen Serea.

"......"

Lilith fell silent. In an instant, all the clues quickly pieced themselves together in her mind, forming the final truth. Remembering the elf woman named 'Serea' from the day before, her jaw clenched.

"Seize her and bring her to me!"

Lilith's voice seethed with the anger of betrayal!

"Yes!" x30

All thirty Holy Knights charged forward. When Julie saw them launch their offensive, she was flummoxed—she couldn't understand why Queen Serea would attack them.

But the next scene left her dumbstruck. The knights' swords were coated in holy light, purifying every skeleton in their path.

Holy Knights! The Holy See!

The realization dawned on Julie. She hurried down from the attic, but Lilith had already stormed in.

Bang!

Lilith kicked in the main gate, coming face-to-face with Julie. Julie immediately turned to run, only for Lilith to catch up with her in a stride.

"I advise you not to move."

Lilith's knight's sword traced the line at Julie's neck, causing her to drop her longbow in fright and freeze in place.

"Queen Serea, you..."

"Come outside with me."

Lilith ordered coldly, and facing those icy, merciless eyes, julie followed her out.

When Lilith brought Julie out, all the skeletons had already been purified. Thirty Holy Knights' combat prowess was terrifying.

"Lady Lilith, all the undead have been eliminated."

The one reporting was Manshir, who had hurried over to claim credit.

"Very good. Search inside and see if we missed anything."

"Yes."

A dozen Holy Knights rushed into the chapel. Hearing that the woman was referred to as 'Lilith,' Julie finally realized she had mistaken the identity.

Seeing the Holy Knights searching the chapel, julie panicked, knowing that the children were still hiding inside.

While the knights searched, lilith questioned Julie.

"Are you an undead mage?"

"I..."

Julie hesitated.

If she admitted it, perhaps she could lead these people away and Leklis would be safe, so...

"I am."

"Good. Is this the Church of Death's chapel?"

"Yes."

"Where is the Preacher of the chapel?"

"I am the Preacher."

"What about the others?"

"There aren't any—the chapel was just established. I'm the only one here."

Julie said without batting an eye. Upon hearing this, lilith turned to Astor.

"Didn't you say you were following an undead mage? Where is that person?"

"He must be hiding. And this woman is far too weak—she can't possibly be the Preacher here."

Astor said as a faint golden hue appeared in his eyes.

Judgment Eye!

"Tell me, where are the others?"

Astor's voice was icy.

"It's just me."

Julie replied, but suddenly felt a burning pain in her spirit.

"Ahhh!"

"I forgot to mention—under the Judgment Eye, if you lie or fail to answer, you'll continually suffer this pain."

"Only... only me... ahhh!"

Julie felt like her soul was being scorched. Seeing that she refused to talk, Astor prepared to get harsher, but Lilith stopped him.

"Enough. You won't get anything more this way."

"Yes."

Astor stepped aside, as Lilith gave the stubborn woman a look.

"Tie her up and bring her back."

As Lilith spoke, a Holy Knight beside her bound Julie with a rope, while the other knights exited the chapel.

"Report: there's no one inside—just some scrolls documenting necromancy research."

"You're sure there's no one else?"

"Yes."

"Then bring all the evidence. We'll return to Sedis City."

Lilith ordered. There was no further reason to stay. Catching a nearby undead mage was already a gain; with interrogation, perhaps more could be learned.

Before leaving, Astor glanced at the chapel.

"Lady Lilith, since this is a heretic's chapel, there's no reason for it to exist."

Lilith shot him a look.

"Then you stay with some men and handle it. We'll slow our pace—catch up when you're done."

"As you command, lady Lilith."

Astor answered, and he and a few Holy Knights stayed behind. Once Lilith disappeared from sight, he turned and gave the order.

"Burn it down!"

"Yes."

Several Holy See knights tossed torches into the chapel, and as they watched the burgeoning blaze, Astor showed a satisfied smile.

Let's see, Death—will you make your move now?

Wearing a cold smile, Astor mounted his horse. After leaving behind any vital clues, he led his men after Lilith.
