Chapter 213 : Returning Home
Chapter 213 : Returning Home
Returning Home"What do you think you're doing?"
Manshir was stunned. How could these people turn hostile at the drop of a hat?
"Drop your weapons and surrender immediately."
Hearing this, lilith was also a bit confused about the situation.
"Serea..."
Serea revealed a malicious smile. Now that they knew her identity, did they still think about going back?
Dream on, sister!
"Damn it, as I thought, anyone who wields evil power is a sly and treacherous bastard!"
The Holy Knight's captain said, and Manshir also gripped his knight's sword tightly.
"Protect Lady Lilith!"
Although most of them were badly injured, seeing that Lilith was in 'danger,' they charged without fear of death. After all, they were Lilith's guardian knights; even in death, they had to fall before her.
"Hah?"
When she saw they wanted to resist, Serea immediately swung herself onto Lilith's back.
"Serea?"
Before Lilith could figure it out, Serea already had a dagger at her throat.
"Don't do anything reckless. Your Holy Maiden is in my hands."
"You bastard, that's your own sister, and yet you—"
"Do as she says!"
Lilith suddenly spoke. Hearing this, the Holy Knights stopped in their tracks to look at her.
"Holy Maiden..."
"You can't resist. Right now, only by listening to her can you stay safe."
As Lilith spoke, seeing the wounded guardian knights made her heart ache inexplicably. If possible, she would prefer to resolve this conflict peacefully.
"Damn..."
Manshir spat out the words through clenched teeth, then threw his weapon away. It was Lilith's order, after all.
Clang! Clang!
Shields and swords fell to the ground as the Holy Knights surrendered their weapons.
"Serea, neither I nor my people will resist, so please spare their lives."
"Relax, I won't harm them."
As she spoke, the elves stepped forward, binding the Holy Knights with ropes. Serea then put down the dagger and instructed Vina to tie Lilith's hands.
"What a troublesome day... I'll definitely need a good sleep when I get back."
As she spoke, Serea collected the materials and ordered the Skeleton Warriors to carry off the bodies. The group then started heading toward the camp.
Because there were so many wounded among them, their pace was slow, but they managed to return to the camp by dusk.
...
Outside the camp.
Snowflakes were still falling from the sky. In the gloomy unity of earth and sky, the party looked up and were deeply shocked by the gigantic elf king tree. As they walked deeper into the camp, tidy rows of wooden houses greeted them, with even a few stone houses already under construction.
Within the camp, elves, werewolves, undead, humans, and other races mingled and worked together to keep things running smoothly. When Serea returned with her party, everyone passing by greeted them.
"Welcome back, My Queen."
It was Lola who spoke. Hearing this, Serea swung down from her mount.
"Mm, is the camp all right?"
"Everything is as calm as ever."
Lola replied. Lilith looked at the elves who had come to welcome them. The race revered as ancient guardians—were they now Serea's followers as well...?
Lilith sighed, both for the camp and for Serea's current strength.
"All right, get down now."
Serea's words pulled Lilith back to the present. When she saw her sister hold out a hand, lilith understood. With Serea's support, she stepped down onto the ground.
At this moment, lilith wore a mask made from Pelam by magic, and her hands were bound by rope. Because her identity was sensitive and too complicated to explain to too many people, Serea simply had her wear a mask.
"Doluka, please bring some people to treat them, and make sure they don't escape."
"Yes."
Doluka replied, then led the blood elf guards to escort the Holy Knights to a cell prepared for captives.
"Lola, come with me—I need you to handle a special patient personally."
"As you wish, My Queen."
Lola agreed, then followed Serea into one of the elves' wooden houses.
Climbing the vine-lined steps, lilith looked around curiously, drawing Lola's attention as she took in the camp's sights.
"My Queen, this is...?"
"Oh, this is the sister I picked up along the way."
"......"
At the odd answer, Lola pondered a moment, and when she saw Lola's confused expression, Serea pulled Lilith inside the wooden house.
"There will be plenty of chances to talk later. Let's get you healed first."
She helped Lilith sit down on the big bed, then ordered Vina and Dorulu to guard the wooden house and keep everyone else out. Inside, only Celia, Lola, Serea, and Lilith remained.
"All right, take off the mask."
At Serea's words, lilith removed the mask.
Golden hair fell down, and when Lola saw her face, her hand flew to her mouth in surprise.
"This..."
"Just twins, nothing to be surprised about."
Serea added, and then continued,
"Check her injuries first. I think she's been hit by some sort of curse."
Serea had Lilith turn around and helped her take off her cloak and cloth armor.
When her back was exposed, a hideous scar was revealed. When Lilith used the holy light earlier, it had triggered the curse, so now her back was covered with black marks.
"What a severe curse."
Lola frowned slightly. As she spoke, she gathered a mass of pale green natural energy and pressed it against the cursed area on Lilith's back. The curse began to dissipate bit by bit, but Lilith had to bite her lip from the pain.
"Mm!"
"Hang in there."
Lola continued, casting Healing Rain to cleanse the curse.
After a few minutes, the spreading curse faded, but its mark only dimmed slightly.
Seeing that Healing Rain had limited effect, Lola stopped channeling natural energy.
"My abilities are limited. But Miss Celia's 'Purification' should be more effective in removing a curse."
"No, it won't work. This is a curse designed specifically against holy light—it triggers whenever it comes in contact with holy light power."
Serea explained, which made Lola look troubled.
"Then we'll have to use Spring of Life to cleanse it little by little, and supplement it with natural energy. That should heal it, though it will take some time."
"That's fine, as long as it works. Lola, please help fetch some Spring of Life."
"Of course."
Lola agreed and left. Serea then helped Lilith get dressed again as they waited for Lola's return.
"Looks like there's nothing more I can do here. I'll head out for a bit."
"Celia, do you have things to take care of?"
"I haven't finished making the latest batch of potions."
"All right, thank you."
Serea said, bidding Celia farewell. But before she had left, a strange sound rang out.
Grrr~
The two of them looked at Lilith, who dropped her head in embarrassment.
"I—I left in a rush this morning and haven't eaten since..."
"I'll get you something to eat. Wait here for a bit."
Celia said and, seeing Serea and Lilith sitting together, was struck by a sense of déjà vu—like she was witnessing the old days, back when she was the head maid caring for the two sisters.
But the image only flashed briefly before Celia walked out of the wooden house.
