Chapter 99: | 099 | War For Liberation Part 18: The Besieged Town, Servusarator

In the western part of the island, the town of Servusarator dwelled. And anchored within its port was the expansionary battleship of the Principatus Humanum. This ship was the hope of the settlement and its people.

It was the torch that kept the colonists of Servusarator from despairing out of their unfortunate circumstances.

The captain of the expansionary battleship furrowed his eyebrows as explosions resounded from the outskirts of the town. He could also see metallic birds flying through the skies, unimpeded.

The situation of the Servusarator was far from good.

They were surrounded at all sides and they didn't even know when the reinforcements from the expansionary fleet of Principatus Humanum would come.

"Captain! There are forces other than the rebels. They have invaded through the beaches of the western fortress." One of the knights reported to the captain.

Hearing the words of the knight, the captain furrowed his eyebrows. It seems that his thoughts were true, which was a piece of bad news for him and the town of Servusarator.

'Other forces, huh... It looks like the United Navy has arrived to claim their trophy.' The captain quietly thought to himself, slowly feeling hope fading by the second.

They had no chance against their adversaries. Fighting against them was guaranteed bloodshed and defeat. But the colonists of Servusarator were pinning their hopes on the authority of humanity.

So, he and they must not give up, amidst these despairing times.

With this in mind, the captain regained his confidence and wanted to fight despite the inevitable defeat. He turned his determined gaze to the knight hear him and ordered them.

"Prepare our defenses! We will fight in this town, until the very end. For we are humanity's warriors, we shall not surrender." The captain uttered to the knight, who nodded with a hopeful expression.

"Go, we don't have any more time left. Manned every inch of this town with defenses! Let them know of our power and become humanity's shield against the heretics!" He ordered the knight to immediately relay his orders.

The knight nodded once again vehemently and ran off to give the orders of the captains to the surrounding knights. The town of Servusarator must be protected no matter what.

When relaying such orders, the knight uttered the very words the captain had spoken to him, causing the morale of the remaining local garrison to increase further beyond.

On the other hand, the war master gazed upon the invading forces of the United Navy that were closing in. Defeat seems inevitable in his eyes, but the colonists appeared to be riled up.

This made the war master smile as he thought to himself with a tinge of satisfaction.

'It looks like he's not so bad with his speeches.'

'Though... Will it be enough against the firepower of the United Navy? Without the assistance of the main fleet, we have no chance against our adversaries.'

'But perhaps, buying time is simply enough for us.' The war master closed his eyelids and sighed. Beforehand, he was confident and prideful. However... Things were different now.

"Is this the governor of the plantation colony?" He questioned the gorgeous white-haired lady, who maintained her smirk and briefly nodded to his inquiry.

"With their leader gone, their chain of command must be in chaos. Any remaining variables other than the town of Servusarator shouldn't be a problem to us." Abraham muttered after observing the governor.

The reason why he wanted the governor was fairly simple. It was to introduce a peaceful surrender to the humans in the town of Servusarator. This would lower the bloodshed, and would not be horrendous for both his forces and the enemy's.

"Correct, Fleet Admiral." Charlotte stood beside the fleet admiral while looking at the tied-up governor of the plantation colony. She expected for a magic practitioner to be the leader of the colony, but it looks like she overestimated them a bit too much.

"The governor of Servusarator will be useful in acquiring a surrender from the town. So, Lieutenant Laplace... Send him to the frontlines to meet with the main army." Charlotte glanced at Laplace who kept smiling at the two of them.

Laplace didn't respond to the stone-faced girl and merely gazed at Abraham, who briefly nodded at the dragoness.

"Affirmative, we'll be sending him to the frontlines." Laplace softly replied to the vice admiral of the United Navy. Charlotte wasn't bothered by the actions of the dragoness. It was the usual behavior of the problem dragon.

But it was better for the dragoness to ask direct orders from the fleet admiral. So, she was satisfied by the actions and behavior of the problem dragon.

"Before that, I'd like to talk to him," Abraham uttered as he got nearer to the governor, who was tied up to a chair. The governor looked incredibly tired, but as he noticed someone getting closer to him, his body awakened.

He opened his eyes and looked at the one in front of him. It was a middle-aged man, wearing a naval uniform of some sort. The most prominent thing on the man was his insignia.

'A five star.' The governor realized that the one before him was none other than the leader of the United Navy. This caused the wisps of raging flames in his heart to grow stronger.

"You're the one that ordered your United Navy to invade my land, huh... You're underestimating the power of the Sovereigns a bit too much." The governor said to the fleet admiral with hatred on his face.

"You'll lose everything you have, and the Albion Empire will personally seek revenge for what you have done to Servusarator." He continued spouting his mouth without care of consequences.

A cold expression emerged on Laplace's face as she stepped closer to the governor, but Abraham stopped her from moving forward with his hand and smiled at the chained man in front of him.

"Please don't misunderstand. The United Navy isn't the type to underestimate its opponents. I merely hope that you'll accept an unconditional surrender to the navy." Abraham expressed to the governor.

The governor clenched his teeth and questioned.

"And why should I do that?"

Hearing the reply of the governor, Abraham's smile slowly turned cold as he reached out to his holster. A revolver resided between his fingers while he pointed it at the governor.

"Because you won't have any use anymore if you don't do so, and your entire town will be pummeled into the ground. We have the capabilities to do so, and can do it without any problems."

"Do you really want to be the first to test our patience?" He questioned the governor who felt chills after hearing his words.
