B4 | Chapter 79
B4 | Chapter 79
AlexiaJust like the last banquet, everyone is teleported in immediately before seeing some notification about the banquet and how long it’ll last. All while wearing illusional formal attire again. But I don’t pay attention to any of that. I don’t even bother removing the illusion and let the dress stay this time since the championships are over.
I just head straight towards a table where I find Lucas standing around, at which point I begin talking with him about the battle.
And while we talk, I can’t help but notice the looks being sent towards us by others.
Actually, it’s not just us. There are also looks being sent towards the other top ranking people on the leaderboards.
Most of the looks are rather fearful, with some being downright terrified now that people have seen us fight on those livestreams. Because I’ve heard people can even record the battles and stuff on those livestreams. So the Dimensional Champions who lost most likely went and watched the recordings of us fighting in the dungeon after their departure.
So everyone knows just how powerful we are now.
Although the looks being sent my way are a little different from the others.
Everyone just seems straight up terrified of me. With precious few exceptions.
Those exceptions being a few of the other top ranked people on the leaderboards. Like the Ancient Wyrm and the Ancestral Dragon.
Something I do note though is that there are some people missing from the banquet that were at the previous one. Including a few of the people I suspected Mom killed but didn’t have any actual proof.
At least I have proof they’re permanently dead now. Considering that they’re not here.
Specifically the Holy One, who was an annoying old man, and the Ancient Terror, who I actually feel kind of bad about. Mostly because it means we’ll never get to finish our battle.
My thoughts come to a halt when Mom appears in the room and waltzes over to me and Lucas. Making a smile appear on my face before I hug her once she arrives.
Shocking every last person in the banquet hall. Even Lucas.
But I don’t care. I just hug her for a little bit longer before letting go and moving back to the table again.
After that Mom joins our little group at the table, following which a few other people join as well. Including but not limited to the Ancient Wyrm and the Ancestral Dragon.
Then we proceed to chat for a while.
But right as the banquet begins to near its end, a System Notification appears in front of me. One that surprises me a little.
Please make a speech befitting the Quantum Reaper before all those in front of you.
If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
I stare at the notification for a few seconds before noticing everyone staring at me, no doubt having gotten some sort of notification telling them about my ‘giving a speech’ or some shit like that.
When will this System stop trying to control me?
I let out a sigh at that thought.
Whatever. This might be a good opportunity.
So after one last glance at Mom, I teleport straight up into the air. Then I go ahead and transform into my True Form, making a pillar of quantum energy shoot up straight into the roof of the banquet hall, destroying the roof and continuing on to reveal a glitchy realm of quantum energy outside of the banquet hall. Meanwhile the illusion of a dress on my body shatters and I’m returned to my armor and damaged-looking cloak again.
And under the eyes of everyone in the banquet hall, my form changes. Two bat-like draconic wings stretch out of my back while two horns grow from my head.
Finally, to finish it all off, my scythe appears in my hand, coated in quantum lightning that strikes down from the gap in the ceiling.
“Everyone here, let me set this one thing straight,” I declare, my voice echoing throughout the entire banquet hall as everyone stares up at me. Most with fear, but the few friends I have here show smiles and amusement. And Mom and Lucas both look proud. “Now that I have the Tier 5 dungeon, I will be going back inside of it after this. If you attack me or mine, I will erase you. If you break the laws of the universe, I will erase you for no reason other than the reward it will give me. And if you dare to harm my family, you will wish for a quick death.”
I see a cold sweat forming on everyone in attendance as many of them struggle to even stand up amidst the pressure I’m emitting.
“Once I leave the Tier 5 dungeon, I swear to you all that I will be the first Ascendant of the Reset,” I finish with my eyes narrowing. “Make an enemy of me if you desire it, but know that I will not hold back when I return.”
And with that, I finish it all up with one powerful clap of quantum lightning that fills the entire room in the form of a threat. Without, of course, harming anyone. Because that’d get me in trouble with the universe.
Then the banquet comes to an end, and I find myself reappearing back in the Dimensional Grid.
I let out a sigh before ending my True Form transformation and going back to my normal form. And with a smile, I go ahead and summon forth the entrance to the Tier 5 dungeon.
From what I understand about this thing, I can set it so that it vanishes the moment I pass through it, or I can make it stay behind even as I pass through. Letting other people enter it after me.
Of course, I’ll be doing the former. Because I need to be the first to reach Ascendant Tier for that wonderful Legendary Feat.
Also, it’s too dangerous for most people. Seeing as from what I understand, this gate will send me to where I was in the dungeon before being sent to duel Lucas.
And there isn’t a single person in the Dimensional Grid that can handle the monsters there other than me.
I go ahead and set the gate so that it’ll vanish after I enter it, then I begin to prepare to walk in.
Only to notice a certain sister appearing from the shadows not too far away with a glare on her face. One directed straight at me.
Um… Astrid doesn’t look particularly happy with me right now.
I wonder why?
Astrid narrows her eyes while looking between me and the gate. Then she begins to slowly walk over here with a look on her face that tells me she’s about to start lecturing me.
Hmm. Right.
When things like this happen it’s best to wait until she cools off.
So without hesitation, I step straight through the gate.
Leaving one last glance of Astrid in my vision before I’m teleported away. And it’s not a particularly happy one considering the surprise and anger on her face.
Well, time to reach Ascendant Tier.
And hopefully let her cool off before I return.
Seriously though, what was she so angry about anyways?
I think back to everything I did during the Championships before remembering how I spilled quite a few of her embarrassing moments to the entire universe.
At that thought I just stare blankly ahead even after appearing within the dungeon.
Huh.
Nah, it can’t be that. And even if it is, I’m just gonna act like it’s not.
Here’s hoping she forgets by the time I get out.
And with that thought, I immediately get back to work hunting scorpions.
