Capítulo 544: Tricked?Rael swung his feet over the edge of the cliff, his thoughts mixed.

He had called her, and after her brief moment of confusion, she agreed to come here.

Is this really what I should be doing? Rael leaned back. I have no intention to make a move on Lilith. If anything, I see her more as a seductive friend.

Their relationship was nowhere near that point. They hadn’t shared many experiences together, but he knew that a lot was going to change soon.

She had straightened her hair, put on a beautiful black dress and makeup, and even retracted her horn back into her forehead, almost as if she thought the horn would throw him off somehow.

Even when the two had gone out on adventures together for a while, she had never dressed up like this. He was honestly flattered.

When she landed on the ground, her gaze immediately fell on Rael, who was sitting cross-legged on the ground, staring back at her.

“Hey.” Rael waved with a smile. “Glad you could make it.”

“Hmm… You looked a bit more buff through the crystal,” Lilith remarked, tilting her head. “A bit taller too. Not that I care, of course. I’m just used to seeing bulky demons.”

“I didn’t start out as a demon,” Rael replied. “I went to you for help, and you turned me into one. After that, we were supposed to get unofficially married, but I accidentally made it official.”

“Pfft… Really?” Lilith held back a chuckle. “I guess you just have that much more to tell me, don’t you?”

Eventually, they approached one of the many farms in the corner of the city. There were black leaves sprouting on trees, and many people were picking those leaves selectively.

The lighter the leaf, the less value it seemed to hold, and so they only kept the darkest leaves.

Noticing his curiosity, Lilith explained, “The darker the leaf, the more it nourishes us demons. The light leaves don’t do anything for us. They taste just like any ordinary leaves.”

“Got it.” Rael nodded. “Though after all this talk, those leaves better be special.”

She puffed out her cheeks. “You think I would talk this highly about them if they were just ‘some’ leaves? Come on… given how detailed you were about our time spent together, you should know me better than that.”

“True.” Rael chuckled.

Their laughs rang out amidst the fluttering of leaves until finally, one of the nearby demons walked over with a tray on which there were two cups.

They were filled with surprisingly clear water, enhancing the allure of the black leaves.

“Thank you,” Lilith said, carefully picking up both cups, and after swirling both of them around, she handed one to Rael.

“Be careful, it’s hot,” she teased.

Rael rolled his eyes, and right as he was about to take a sip, Lilith coughed, getting his attention.

“How about a toast?” Lilith offered, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of her lips.

“A toast?” Rael tilted his head. “What exactly are we toasting?”

“Well…” Lilith stepped closer, and then, while maintaining eye contact with him, she clanked her cup against his before letting out a soft giggle.

“Why else? I remember everything.”
