Chapter 784 - 785: Welcome to the Kingdom
Chapter 784 - 785: Welcome to the Kingdom
"Oh, where's Arthur?" asked Arabel, entering the hall and finding only Beatrice and Darkia there."Arthur has left to discuss possible cooperation with your Guild with his family," Beatrice replied.
"And you? Why did you stay?" Arabel asked, and when Beatrice heard her question, she was slightly embarrassed.
"Before leaving, that old man asked her to follow you and keep an eye on you," Darkia explained the reasons why Beatrice stayed.
"Even so?" Arabel was a little surprised.
"We've finally found chefs who can create something truly new and revolutionary, and not only Arthur, but I'm a little afraid that if you take Sofia away, you'll just disappear," Beatrice confessed.
And she added: "Especially since I volunteered."
"Is it getting late, is no one waiting for you?" asked Arabel.
"No, I live alone," — Beatrice replied.
Arabel wasn't going to stay here.
Once Sofia was done, she planned to take her and her mother to the Kingdom to show off her restaurant.
Remembering this, Arabel looked at Beatrice once more. She was an ordinary mortal, just over thirty years old, and worked as a restaurant critic, specializing in delicious food.
"Sofia will be busy cooking anyway, and I can't spend all my time implementing my plan. I need someone who shares my idea and is willing to devote all his strength to it."
"Since Beatrice has expressed a desire to follow me, why not offer her this place? She could become not only a link between the Kingdom and possible cooperation with the Royce family, but also a leader responsible for the development of cooking in a new world under the Kingdom's flag," Arabel mused.
The more Arabel thought about it, the more convinced she became that Beatrice was the perfect candidate.
"Arabel," — Dacria called, startling her out of her thoughts. "I knew you could cook, but I didn't realize you were that good."
"Now that I've tried it myself, I want you more and more," Darkia confessed with a slightly crazy smile.
Arabel's face contorted slightly in disgust, and she took a step back.
"Stay away from me," she blurted out.
Beatrice, who was standing closer to Darkia, also took a few steps away after hearing her confession.
"Huh?" — Darkia tilted her head, not realizing that her words sounded a little ambiguous.
"Well, we're done," — Sofia announced, entering the hall. She raised an eyebrow in surprise, noticing the strange tension between the three girls.
"That's fine," — Arabel smiled, ignoring Darkia.
The waitresses followed Sofia out of the kitchen and, after saying goodbye to everyone, began to disperse. There were hints of worry and thoughtfulness on their faces.
Sofia gave everyone until tomorrow to consider her offer to join the Kingdom Guild with her and her mother.
"Don't forget about our deal, Arabel Morgan," Darkia reminded them before she was the last to leave. Before leaving, she looked around at everyone present once more and gave them her big smile. Darkia understood that she was not yet welcome and was not ready to be allowed into the Kingdom.
After Darkia left, at Arabel's request, Sofia closed the door of the diner and the storefront.
It was approaching 11 a.m., and in the end, only Arabel, Sofia, her mother, and Beatrice were left in the diner.
Sofia and her mother looked questioningly at Beatrice's presence.
"Okay, let me show you my restaurant where you will work," Arabel said with some impatience, opening the Access Portal with a wave of her hand, which shocked everyone present.
"Ha ha ha, don't stand there, come in," Arabel called cheerfully. After a bit of hesitation, the three of them quickly exchanged glances, went inside and found themselves in a completely different place, in front of the entrance to the circular building.
Sofia, her mother, and Beatrice looked around curiously and noticed that there were already quite a few houses here, and a two-story wooden mansion stood out nearby.
"Welcome to the Kingdom," Arabel announced, entering last and closing the Access Portal.
"Kingdom?" Beatrice asked in surprise, looking around.
"Yes, this is the private area where our Guild is located," Arabel explained. "As you can see, this place is cut off from the outside world due to the barrier."
Looking up and seeing the barrier, the three of them remembered the mysterious barrier and the rumors that had been circulating about it.
"So the rumors are true?" Beatrice exclaimed.
"Yes, this place is located inside the very barrier that appeared on the territory of the Stone family," Arabel confirmed, further astounding her guests.
After giving the three of them the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Kingdom, Arabel entered her restaurant.
Using her power over the Kingdom and all four elements, she created several balls of light that illuminated the restaurant hall.
"System, is there an energy source in the Trade function that is suitable for my restaurant?" she asked the System.
Without further ado, the System opened a window in front of her with a small list of suitable options.
"Wow!" exclaimed Arabel, seeing completely new and bizarre inventions that were completely different from the generators she was used to.
Scrolling through the list, she chose something average at a price of 700 System Points.
This energy source had a round shape, in the center of which was a small white crystal, and several rings rotated around it.
"Take a look around, I'll be back soon," Arabel said to Sofia and the others, and then disappeared, leaving all three of them looking at the place where she had been standing in disbelief.
Left alone, Sofia, her mother, and Beatrice began to explore the restaurant.
Sofia and her mother were most attracted to the circular kitchen located in the very center of the establishment. They went inside and began to study her. The more they walked, the more Sofia liked this kitchen.
There was everything necessary for cooking, and the location and the fact that the guests could see how she cooked, she was delighted. She loved not only cooking, but also showing off her skills.
There was no such layout in the eatery, and no one could see how she cooked. Here, everyone could enjoy her skills and even chat with her.
Now Sofia could spend the whole day in the kitchen, communicating not only with her mother and the waitresses, but also with the guests, sharing the latest news and interesting stories with them.
