Chapter 2695 - 2704: As Expected, It Was Baron Lawrence’s Call
She took out her phone and glanced at it. Sure enough, it was a certain someone calling. Enna Clark didn’t avoid Bobby at all and answered directly, "Hello, Baron Lawrence."
"Where are you?" As he grew older, this man had become more and more mature and steady, and his voice had only gotten more and more attractive. No wonder Wendy Hanson had come back to the country, seen him, and then obsessively come to make trouble for her.
But every time he called, it was always this same line. Couldn’t he come up with something new?
He made her feel like the Director of Education from School was spot-checking her every time.
Luckily Enna Clark was already used to it. Anyway, he was just insanely possessive, wishing he could keep her within his line of sight twenty‑four hours a day.
As soon as she was out of his sight for a bit, she would definitely get a call from him within two hours!
"I’m near Bobby’s School. Are you coming back?"
Unexpectedly, Baron Lawrence wasn’t calling to say he was on his way home. "No, I still have something on hand. I’ll come back after I’m done."
"Oh." Then why was he calling her?
It was as if he’d heard Enna Clark’s silent grumbling. His low voice came from the other end of the line. "I need to know where you are."
"..." That reason was domineering enough!
Enna Clark was actually left speechless. "I’m near the School. I’ll go back later."
"Mm. Wait for me to come back." Baron Lawrence didn’t ask why she was near Tobias Clark’s School while he was in class. Once he knew where Enna was, he hung up.
Enna Clark was left baffled by his call. Just as she put the phone down, the boss happened to bring over the snacks they had ordered.
Enna Clark’s attention was instantly drawn to the food. She pinched the cheek of the gloomy Bobby and smiled, "Alright now, don’t be so downcast."
Bobby answered with a soft "mm," still looking pretty unenthusiastic.
Enna Clark couldn’t help kneading his soft little face again. "Still sulking? Don’t. By the way, I only found out today how popular my little Bobby is with the girls. No wonder last time Gigi used that Sister who was delivering you a note to stash a bunch of candies. Do you have any girl you like?"
Bobby’s handsome face was rubbed until it turned red, which watered down that usual prematurely mature, little-adult vibe of his and brought out an expression more fitting for his age. He pushed away Enna Clark’s wanton hand, shot her a disdainful sidelong look, proud and cool. "How could I possibly like those immature little rug rats who don’t even have all their hair yet?"
Enna Clark, "..."
"I’m not even going to think about that stuff before I’m eighteen." Bobby picked up his chopsticks. He wasn’t as down as he’d been a moment ago, and said calmly, "Before eighteen, I only want to make money."
"Uh..." Enna Clark completely couldn’t figure out why he was so obsessed with making money. "You really don’t have to think about earning money so early."
Bobby gave her a deep look, then withdrew his gaze, his eyelids half-lowered, his tone especially firm. "I want to make money."
He had promised his woman before that when he grew up, he would earn money to support her.
Now that his woman had that Dubious Man to support her, he still had to make lots and lots of money. In case one day his woman argued with that Dubious Man, he could be his woman’s backup!
Besides, there was a new little dummy at home now.
The little dummy was so silly and so greedy; he had to save money to build up a bride price for her. Otherwise she might not be able to get married in the future and might get bullied.
Enna Clark had no idea what was going on in his head. When he wouldn’t tell her even after she asked, she gave up helplessly and pulled him to eat together.
