Chapter 1713: Fuming with Rage
Chapter 1713: Fuming with Rage
"No kidding..." Little Taotie’s voice was soft and cute.
But the cute little girl made Brother Nie feel terrified!
That wasn’t just one or two curses!
It’s the curse of the entire Ancient Pagoda!
"I... I feel like I’m on borrowed time, but you can still live, tough luck."
He thought if it were him, he’d probably be bleeding from all seven orifices, maybe even die more tragically.
Little Taotie looked puzzled: "Why not come, is someone trying to kill you?"
"Ahem..." He coughed twice: "The curse is too powerful, if they knew I was there to lift the curse, all the curses in the pagoda would weigh down on me, I’d die on the spot."
Little Taotie took out a Gold Brick, looking at it left and right.
Couldn’t see any signs of a curse.
It’s gleaming gold; if there were curses, they’d probably be offset by the gold?
Isn’t gold supposed to suppress Evil Spirits?
Little Taotie asked the question on her mind.
Brother Nie smiled bitterly: "Normal curses indeed, some Evil Spirits are afraid of gold, but is this normal? The premise is the Ancient Pagoda suppresses countless Evil Spirits, built with gold to suppress. But back then, there was a small mishap, a traitor among the builders, so when forging the golden bricks, they tampered, turning the pagoda from an Evil Spirit suppressing treasure tower into the Tower of Evil Spirits where they come and go freely."
"It’s so pitiful then." Little Taotie sighed: "No wonder it’s so foolish."
Thinking about how it could throw out all its golden bricks, directly causing the tower to collapse, the pagoda indeed doesn’t seem very smart.
The Gold Brick in Little Taotie’s hand seemed to understand what she was saying, wriggling angrily, trying to break free from her palm.
"Oh? You can move?"
Hearing Little Taotie’s voice, Brother Nie chimed in: "What are you talking about, what’s moving?"
"The Gold Brick, I said bad things about the Ancient Pagoda, and it got angry."
Little Taotie soothed the Gold Brick: "Alright alright, don’t be mad, after all, the pagoda is already gone. I’ll help you remove the curse on you, then we can rebuild a tower, a rightful good tower, no longer the Tower of Evil Spirits."
The Gold Brick that wanted to struggle heard this, seemed to understand, and bounced twice in Little Taotie’s hand before settling down.
"Good boy," Little Taotie exclaimed.
"Gold Bricks shouldn’t have such intelligence, is it possible that it... is the Tower of Evil Spirits?" Brother Nie cautiously lowered his voice and asked.
Little Taotie was taken aback, staring at the Gold Brick left and right: "Doesn’t seem like it, it’s quite smart."
Hua Jinyan couldn’t hold back and laughed quietly.
The Gold Brick started to smoke.
Little Taotie puzzled: "Why are you smoking, I didn’t burn you."
"It should be the spirit of the Ancient Pagoda, or perhaps all Gold Bricks can be infused with the spirit of the pagoda," Hua Jinyan said.
Little Taotie was surprised: "Is it really the foolish pagoda?"
The Gold Brick was annoyed, bouncing up and down in Little Taotie’s hand, if it had a mouth, it’d surely be cursing by now.
Little Taotie steadied it, gently stroked its head: "Alright alright, I know you’re the Ancient Pagoda, but your previous actions were really silly, it’s the truth, you can’t blame me for speaking the truth, right?"
The Gold Brick calmed down, but more smoke started to emit from its body.
Little Taotie tilted her head towards Hua Jinyan, asking: "Is it smoking from anger?"
