Chapter 205
Chapter 205
The convoy of cars moved smoothly down the highway, heading toward the upscale restaurant Clarissa had booked for dinner.
However Ethan sat in silence, his gaze fixed on the passing scenery, while Clarissa glanced occasionally at her phone, confirming the details of their reservation.
Everything seemed normal.
Until it wasn't.
Ethan noticed first—the subtle shift in direction.
The cars veered off the main road, turning down a less familiar path. He glanced at Clarissa, her brow furrowing as she realized the change in direction.
"This isn't the way to the restaurant," she said sharply, her voice tinged with suspicion.
Before she could say more, the two security men sitting with them suddenly drew their weapons, cold steel aimed directly at their foreheads. The cabin filled with a tense silence, the weight of the situation sinking in instantly.
"Stay quiet," one of the men growled, his voice low and threatening.
"No sudden moves."
At that moment Ethan's eyes flicked to the guns, then to the men, his face unreadable as the car continued down the unfamiliar road.
At that moment Ethan's mind raced as he processed the situation. The cold barrel of the gun pressed against his forehead was a clear warning—any sudden move would be reckless. Yet, beneath the surface, his thoughts were sharp and calculating.
'If they're taking us somewhere, the person behind this will be there.'
he thought.
'I need to see who's pulling the strings.'
Beside him, Clarissa shifted uneasily. Her voice, steady but tinged with concern, broke the tense silence. "Let the boy go," she said firmly, her eyes locked on the men. "He has nothing to do with this. Whatever you want, take me instead."
Upon hearing what Clarissa said.
One of the gunmen sneered, his grip tightening on the weapon. "Shut up," he barked. "Both of you are coming. No negotiations."
Clarissa couldn't believe her security team has been compromised all these while.
Ethan stayed silent, his face calm but his mind still turning over the possibilities. Whoever's behind this won't expect what's coming.
However Clarissa voice grew more desperate as she pleaded with the men.
"Please, I'll go willingly. Just let him go. He has nothing to do with this."
One of the gunmen finally broke his silence, his tone curt and unwavering. "The order is to bring both of you. No exceptions."
The lady's eyes blazed with fury as she stepped forward, her voice filled with venom.
"You think this will end well for you? If my brother doesn't hear from me by tomorrow, you'll all regret it."
The senior director smirked, his confidence unshaken. He leaned in slightly, his tone dripping with malice.
"How about this," he said, his eyes narrowing.

"Your brother finally decides to step foot in this country to save you... only to get a bullet in his back."
Upon hearing what he just said.
The room fell silent, the weight of his threat hanging heavy in the air. Ethan's expression remained calm, but his sharp eyes glinted with a quiet fury as he watched the scene unfold.
The senior director smirked, pacing slowly in front of Clarissa.
"Your brother will come, you know," he said confidently, his voice dripping with malice.
"After all, he doesn't trust the police anymore, does he? He'll have no choice but to take matters into his own hands."
The words hit her like a blow, her breath catching in her throat.
'They know,'
she thought, her shock evident as her eyes widened. "You... you're planning to use me as bait?" she stammered.
One of the directors chuckled darkly, stepping closer.
"Not just bait, my dear," he said mockingly. "We're taking over the company, completely. By the time anyone realizes what's happened, it'll be too late."
Immediately Clarissa's rage flared, and she lunged forward, her fists clenched.
"You bastards—" she started, but before she could get far, one of the men stepped in, shoving her roughly to the ground. She gasped as she hit the cold floor, her fury only burning hotter.
"Take her away," the senior director ordered with a dismissive wave. "She's done enough talking."
Immediately two guards grabbed her, hauling her to her feet as she struggled against their grip.
"You won't get away with this!" she spat, glaring at the directors. But they only laughed as she was dragged out.
Once she was gone, the directors turned their attention to Ethan, their expressions shifting to sneering amusement.
"And you," one of them said, leaning in slightly.
"You've been awfully quiet. What happened to all that confidence you had earlier? Pretty scared now, right?"
