Chapter 44 WORLD KNOWLEDGE PART 5
Chapter 44 WORLD KNOWLEDGE PART 5
Their father exchanged a knowing glance with their mother before his expression softened into a gentle smile. "Ah, my curious little warrior, as magnificent as the Grand Eternal may be, it still stands as a stepping stone to something even more extraordinary." His voice took on the tone he used when sharing particularly precious knowledge. "You see, while Grand Eternal may bend the laws of time and space, there exists a realm where reality itself submits to will and intention."
He paused, letting the anticipation build as his children leaned forward eagerly. "And finally," his voice grew quieter, though no less animated, "we reach the highest of the Five Realms—the Celestial Plains." There was a subtle shift in his storytelling tone, as if recalling something from memory rather than reciting from teachings. "Here, reality itself bends to the will of its rulers: the Four Primordial Lords."
Li Wei and Li Hao instinctively leaned closer, their bowls completely forgotten. Even Li Hua found herself drawn in, though she noticed how her mother's attention seemed to sharpen, her serene expression unchanged.
"The Celestial Plains stand as the crown of creation," he continued, his gestures precise and elegant. "Unlike the realms below, where power is divided among many, here four great beings maintain the very balance of existence itself."
His voice took on a measured cadence as he described each lord in turn. "First among them is the Sovereign of Flames, who commands both fire and lightning—the forces of energy and transformation." Their father's voice carried an undercurrent of ancient memory as he spoke the title, so subtle that only Li Hua's experienced mind caught the way his shoulder tensed, as if bearing an invisible weight. "Through this Lord's domain flows all passion, destruction, and rebirth. Some call them the Lord of Energy and Change—though perhaps Ambition and Dominion would be more fitting," he added, so softly it might have been meant for himself.
"Where these territories meet," their mother added, her voice carrying a hint of wonder, "reality becomes even more extraordinary. Fire and water create eternal rainbows of steam, while light and shadow dance in endless twilight. The very ground shifts between solid and ethereal, and the sky..." she paused, as if searching for words, "Although most cultivators believe the Heavens themselves lie directly above the domain of the Primordial Lords, the sky shows glimpses of realms that exist beyond our five—suggesting mysteries that even the ancient texts dare not describe."
Li Hua noticed her mother's hand drift briefly to the pendant beneath her robes—not in fear, but perhaps in memory.
"Now then," their mother said with gentle warmth, "perhaps we should finish our meal before it gets cold? We can discuss more about the realms another time." Her smile remained graceful and composed.
Li Wei suddenly leaned forward, his eyes bright with curiosity. "Mama, Baba, do immortals live in the Celestial Plains?"
Their father nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Yes, those who have proven their loyalty to their Primordial Lords dwell in great celestial palaces, serving as their eternal guardians and trusted vassals."
The siblings exchanged glances, their minds still full of celestial powers and Primordial Lords, but dutifully returned to their bowls. Li Hua couldn't help but notice how her parents shared another of those meaningful looks across the table—the kind that spoke of shared experiences too profound for words. Even Little Firefly stirred thoughtfully in her consciousness, sensing not fear but the weight of unspoken stories that seemed to deepen the evening's peaceful atmosphere.
