Ch. 128 - Cultural Festival 8 - Parent-Child Conversation
Having finished greeting the royalty and nobility from various countries who came to the cultural festival, I turned my head, trying to find Shenley. Just then, Grantz, the King of Grandsands, cheerfully called out to me.
"So then, Aoi-dono, what brings you here? I thought you had come to see the presentations of your fellow advanced faculty members, but those are already over."
"Ah, no, I heard that a student named Shenley-san was touring around with her father, so I was thinking of going to check on them."
When I replied, Grantz nodded with a gentle smile.
"I see. That's wonderful, being so thoughtful of your students. By the way, that means your business isn't urgent, is that correct?"
Grantz asked with a strange confirmation. While tilting my head at his somewhat suggestive way of speaking, I immediately spoke words of denial.
"I'm sorry, but I'm personally in a hurry, as I'm concerned about how Shenley-san and her father are doing."
When I told him that, Grantz widened his eyes in a bewildered way. Glenn was wearing a strained smile in the background, but for now, my own business takes priority.
"Then, everyone, please enjoy the cultural festival. Now, if you'll excuse me."
I lightly bowed, gave my greetings, and turned on my heel.
I’ll leave the task of dealing with important people to Glenn, the headmaster.
Thinking that, this time I moved from the central plaza towards the east side. I walked around looking here and there, but there were too many people, and it didn't seem like I would find them easily. It couldn't be helped, as the academy grounds were vast...
As I was walking around impatiently, I discovered a figure standing as if leaning against the school building wall.
It was Gaia, the informant. For some reason, Gaia was just standing there, holding a drink and looking intently at something.
"Gaia-san."
When I called out, Gaia raised his face and looked at me.
"Hm? Oh, it's the academy's witch-sama."
"Please stop calling me that."
When I warned Gaia, he chuckled with a snort.
"Do you have some business with me?"
"No, not particularly business..."
I was about to say that I didn't have business, but then I thought that, since Gaia was an informant, he might be able to tell me a good way to
"It's, it's not just me, it's a presentation that everyone who is taking Aoi-sensei's class will be doing, so..."
Shenley spoke as if making excuses. Hearing that, Aldo looked at me with a serious expression.
"...Understood. I will definitely go see it."
When he said that with a grim expression as if going to war, I couldn't help but smile wryly and nod in response.
"I think you'll be able to understand Shenley-san's current ability as a magician a little bit. Please look forward to it."
When I told him that, for some reason, Shenley’s face was turning blue with an expression like that of Munch’s The Scream.
