Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Private Pool Instantly Turns into a Fish Pond!
Jiang Yan felt a surge of joy in her heart.
“There really is a way out in seemingly hopeless situations!”
This was the first time since the high temperatures had arrived that she had seen a living creature outside that appeared normal.
She just didn’t know if these fish had mutated like the mosquitoes and leeches had.
The group of fish looked to be about the length of her arm each, but at least they hadn’t grown strange teeth or changed color in an odd way.
However, the distance was a bit far, so she couldn’t see clearly.
...
She would have to catch one to find out!
But how to catch one was the problem.
She did have a bunch of different kinds of fishing rods in her Space, for sea fishing, river fishing, you name it.
But to be honest, her fishing skills weren’t great; she fit the type who has a lot of school supplies but performs poorly.
It would probably be more efficient to use a simple and brutal approach, like a fishing net.
But she wasn’t close enough for that.
The school of fish would swim up to a certain point and then, as if they had bewitched minds, they wouldn’t come any closer.
Jiang Yan thought for a moment, then took a large fishing cage out from her Space, along with a plastic basin and a small bag of corn flour.
She mixed a bit of water with the corn flour, kneaded it into small lumps slightly larger than the mesh of the fishing cage, and placed them in the cage.
Then, she slowly lowered the fishing cage down from the edge of the door.
When she felt like the distance was about right, she took a small stool out of the Space to sit on, secured the catch rope of the fishing cage with her feet, and then sprinkled some dried corn flour on top of the cage into the water.
She actually didn’t know much about fishing.
The agricultural instructional videos she had seen mostly taught about casting nets.
She did remember a time when she happened to see a fishing vlogger on social media, who mentioned that before fishing, you should ‘chum the water,’ and that fish like eating corn flour and bloodworms and such, so she imitated them and made some adaptations.
Others might wait patiently for rabbits; she was waiting for fish in her net.
After everything was prepared, all she could do was wait for the fish to swim into the net.
The fish were still swimming around.
Some of the fish quickly caught the scent of the corn flour and began to swim upwards.
One fish, two fish, three fish...
About ten minutes went by, and a bold fish finally swam into Jiang Yan’s fishing cage and started eating the corn flour lumps with gusto.
By their hungry looks, these fish seemed to eat irregularly, sometimes starving and other times feasting.
She sent her thoughts into the Space to get a feel for it, and Jiang Yan was somewhat amused and exasperated.
The good news was that living things, once in the Space, remained alive and fresh.
As for the bad news, her Space was a bit too intelligent...
Normally, everything she collected into the Space, unless she had special arrangements, would automatically be categorized and placed in the grey “Inventory Area.”
But the live fish she had just collected were automatically recognized by the Space and tossed into the rarely visited outdoor swimming pool outside her Apple Cabin.
Fortunately, that swimming pool wasn’t involved with any disinfection, so there weren’t any disinfectants in it.
The group of tilapia were swimming around happily in it.
Looking at her private swimming pool that had instantly transformed into a fish pond, Jiang Yan couldn’t help but hold her forehead and sigh.
She estimated that as soon as the stream materialized, they would likely be transferred into it automatically.
Well, she thought, when the stream is ready, she would move the fish over.
With that in mind, Jiang Yan stepped out of the Space.
She then repeated the process and caught many more fish, placing them into her luxurious “fish pond.”
Later captures included several carp, crucian carp, loaches, a few river prawns, and two turtles the size of her palm.
Without exception, they were all bigger than one would normally see.
It was likely that after the rise in water level, the fish and loaches that had remained in the depths of Anming’s lakes had swum out.
Seeing so many lively and normal small animals, Jiang Yan grew happier with each catch.
It wasn’t until the sky turned completely dark that she stopped her fishing endeavor.
After putting everything away properly, Jiang Yan went up one level.
The wind had picked up outside, and the rain was a bit heavier.
Jiang Yan found a relatively sheltered room among the open rooms and took out a tent from her Space.
She had wanted to sleep outside last night, but the appearance of Song Qian and the others had disrupted her plans.
And now, no one would disturb her again.
*
The next day.
When Jiang Yan woke up, the rain outside was heavier.
She had an ominous feeling.
It looked like the torrential rain might come down tonight.
She decided to make a trip to the bee farm before noon and then return.
Thinking this, Jiang Yan quickly took a box of instant noodles from her Space.
She also took out a portable alcohol stove, added some water, quickly brought it to a boil, and started to soak the noodles.
