Chapter 231 Feelings (2)
Chapter 231 Feelings (2)
Lucas got up and walked toward him, a smile on his face that without any thnking definitely looked fake.
He came in front of Bill whose fear level had increased to the next level. His heartbeat could be felt from feats away.
"The more you get scared of me, the more you feel distrust toward me. And I feel sensitive to it... makes me tingle all over." Lucas said with a smile yet his eyes were that of a lion.
Not a lion that was all full and didn't care for the prey but the very hungry one.
Bill nodded in agreement.

"But what you saw today, I want you to keep it a secret. I don't want to make it public."
Lucas kept a hand on his shoulder making Bill shiver more.
He chuckled bitterly, not liking just how much the guy was scared of him. He had checked his killing intent multiple times and found that it was completely dormant.
But he didn't know that Bill was like this because of Lucas's eyes. They were so sharp that they seemed to peer through Bill's soul. That was not the case yet Bill felt like it and there was no way to confirm it.
Bill could look at Lucas's status on his own yet it was forbidden by Lucas. And if he were to do it without permission, Lucas would get to know instantly. He always knew on his own. Something Bill hated as his curiosity was killing him from the inside.
Lucas went back to the camp and sat down.
"Come sit for a while, we haven't talked properly for ages."
Bill without thinking obliged felling inside the darkness and coming out opposite to Lucas near the campfire.
"Hahaha, you are too dependent on your skill." Lucas said with a smile.
Bill felt the genuineness behind it and finally sighed in relief.
'Hahhh... it's not working huh.' Lucas thought sighing in exhaustion.
"Okay, take it like this, I will never hurt or kill you, not anyone in this group. Never. It's the word of a man."
Suddenly, Lucas could feel that Bill was very surprised by what he said. Bill nodded in agreement and Lucas could feel the guy's fear diminishing that actually disappointed him yet he still felt happy.
'It only took this cheesy line to fix him? Damn, I am good.'
"I already know that you won't do anything to us, it's just... that thing on your arm changed you a lot with time and the same happened with me too."
"Hm?"
Bill sighed in exhaustion keeping a hand on the ground for support, it had been a long night.
"You remember the daggers I have right? These ones." He pointed at the daggers in his leather belt.
Lucas nodded looking at them, there was darkness coming from them, that he could tell yet it felt normal, they were darkness-filled daggers, to begin with.
"It has a property that whenever I use it for a long time, whispers hit my head out of nowhere which drives me crazy. They are horror sometimes..."
"Wait, what? Why didn't you tell me about It before?"
"It felt scary, I thought you all would see me as someone dangerous. I didn't want that. So from the start, I started leaving the shelter for days to hone my skills and get accustomed to the whispers. They drove me crazy before but now I can handle them better than before."
Lucas realized what the guy was getting at, Bill didn't tell anyone and only Lucas, the reason being that they were in the same situation.
While Lucas's mark didn't go to the extreme in giving him awake nightmares, he still was in a very dangerous position. He was one little anger issue away from going berserk and it was frightening.
"It is good that you told me this bro, really appreciate it. If you have any more difficulty in wielding these daggers, just keep them away and use something else."
"You really think I haven't thought about that? The only problem is, these daggers are really good, they have a cut effect that can slice any creature at my level in half without any problems. I want to use them."
