Chapter 256 | 256 | R&D Department - Weapons Development Part 1
Several days have passed since the victory day of the United World Government. Abraham calmly walked through a futuristic hallway deep below the Citadel and moved with confidence and aloofness. It had been a long time, and it was finally time for him to make a move.
The naval task that had kept him at bay since the creation of the nation had finally concluded. And the personal power he had received from Systema wasn't to be underestimated. It was difficult to control his emotions from the excitement brought about by the reward, yet he remained calm.
It might as well be the effects of his newly-gained ability.
| One Above The Heavens |
The personal power was the same as Superhuman, but more overpowered. Such remark already spoke of its magnitude in capabilities and power in comparison to his first ability, Superhuman.
At any rate, 'One Above The Heavens' operated in three simple terms. The first term was the significant increase of pride, which had already affected Abraham severely. Fortunately, the growth in pride didn't impede his thinking, otherwise it might have become arrogance, which always spells trouble.
The second term was that the user would never feel ashamed of anything. It doesn't matter how shameful it could be in the usage of common sense. It wouldn't affect him the slightest, which practically boosted the effects of the first term.
But the most important term of the three was the last term. The third term states that as long as the user becomes the most prideful individual within the certain area His physique, psyche, and spirit would undergo a vast and intricate transformation. Giving him the ability to mold into the Sun God - Solaris.
It was an overpowered ability, and it was the first for Abraham to even receive such a powerful tool. The fact that he could become a god of some kind was already too much, but the Sun God? The personal power might give him capability to stand against the so-called Sovereigns of Humanity.
However, obviously the prerequisites of the two terms before the last term was important. Pride was of importance as it would give him the ability to transform into a being that might rival the apex of the world. And to be honest, he could feel it growing inside of him.
He was becoming prideful by the moment, which was somewhat troublesome. He didn't want to lose control, and maybe lose sight of himself. While the power of a god was an intriguing ability to have, Abraham wouldn't want to be enslaved by it.
At any rate, the reason why Abraham had arrived within the R&D Department was fairly simple. He wanted to see the progress of the military projects that had been presented to his office for months. It has been a while since he had visited the R&D Department, so he had some expectations regarding what they might have for him to inspect.
Who knows what kind of magic technology or the so-called Combined-Technology within the basement of the Citadel.
The two continued walking and after quite a while, they arrived at the next Combined-Technology. Abraham found it familiar, which wasn't a wrong. The simple dome-like machine in front of him was the HERMES Spatial Transmission Engine. It was the technology that made it possible for their aircrafts to enter far-reaching distances than what their fuel would allow them.
It was a useful and strategic technology that might revolutionize logistics. After all, the current military logistics of the United Military stood above the vast quantities of military cargo ships awaiting for deployment. If it was possible to directly send materials, supplies, and even troops into the battlefield. The United World Government would become conquerors of the battlefield.
"This is the official HERMES Spatial Transmission Engine, which have gone through various iterations that improved upon its capabilities as an STE. The first thing we refined was the turbulent puncture and egress paths of the STE. With this spatial transmission engine, you wouldn't even feel a tinge of vibration anymore."
"Not only that, but we have also increased the size limit of HERMES. In its current state, it wouldn't be an issue for the United World Government to equipped the UNS Trinity of Solace with HERMES. The spatial transmission engine would be capable of handling it."
"The last recent improvement of HERMES was its expanded range. As long as the spatial coordinates were sufficiently given, the United World Government would be able to throw an army towards that direction. We would be unstoppable as in mere moments our armies would stand in front of the yards of our adversaries."
The director uttered with confidence, causing Abraham to smile with interest. HERMES was an integral part for the future of the United World Government. With the spatial transmission engine around, it made it as though the nation was moving at the right direction.
Although it was nothing more but instincts, it gave Abraham some relief in regards to the technology that the United World Government had advanced. As said before, the growth of technology was amongst the country's utmost priority.
Superior technology was amongst their trump cards over neighboring nations. And such technology wouldn't be superior anymore if the others caught up while the UWG's technology remained stalled in the modern times without significant improvement.
'It would pronounce the death of the United World Government.' Abraham quietly thought to himself as the tour within the R&D Department continued. Finally, both the Director and him finally stood in front of the interesting stuffs. It was the next-generation armored units that would advanced the United Military further upwards in terms of technological superiority.
Standing in rows before the middle-aged man were seven-meter MECHs, the first and functional prototype that would soon be tested in various general scenarios in the battlefield. These MECHs weren't machine-operated, but teleoperated instead by the operator in the cockpit.
"These are the first-generation MECHs that have been constructed through Combined-Technology refinement. Although prototypes yet, the R&D Department is confident in undertaking the task of completing the MECH project."
"After all, unlike the projects beforehand which tackled a new study of technology. The MECH project merely incorporates magic technology to ensure its plausibility and effectiveness in the battlefield." The director uttered with a confident smile.
The R&D Department wasn't to be underestimated.
