Chapter 222
Chapter 222
At that moment Malis face shifted into a mask of mock of pretends surprise the moment she saw Ethan.
"Oh, what a coincidence," she exclaimed, her tone laced with exaggerated shock.
"You again?"
Her heels clicked sharply against the floor as she approached the desk, her eyes narrowing on Ethan. "I hope you're here to apologize for earlier," she said, crossing her arms. "You had the audacity to disrupt me as I was entering the building. Do you have any idea who you're dealing with?"
However Ethan remained seated, his expression calm and unreadable, but she didn't give him a chance to respond.
"Officer," she said, turning to the man with a commanding tone.
"I demand this man be searched thoroughly. Who knows what he might be hiding this time?"
Her words dripped with condescension, and she gestured at Ethan dismissively.
"He's clearly up to no good, or he wouldn't have caused a scene earlier, I'm so sure of that."
At that moment the officer hesitated for a brief moment, glancing between Malisa and Ethan, his eyes lingering on the authority card still sitting on the table. His face betrayed a flicker of uncertainty, but the celebrity's presence seemed to embolden him. He straightened his posture and nodded, ready to act on her demands.
Ethan, however, didn't move, his calm gaze fixed on Malisa, his silence making her more agitated by the second.
However Malisa smug expression faltered as the silence in the room stretched on. She turned toward the officer, expecting him to spring into action, but his lips were tightly pressed, his eyes glued to the table. Confused, her gaze followed his, landing on the entry card lying there.
Immediately her brow furrowed.
That's not one of ours, she thought, her eyes narrowing. She'd seen every type of entry card issued by the entertainment company, but this one was different—sleek, authoritative, and entirely unfamiliar to her.
However before she could question it, Ethan's voice cut through the tension like a knife.
"You set me up," he said, his tone calm but sharp. His words carried a weight that hung in the air.@@@@
"With your bodyguards. How impressive."
Hearing what Ethan just said.
Seeing who was in front of her Malisa jaw dropped, her confident facade crumbling as she pointed at Ethan in disbelief.
"Who... who is he?" she demanded, her voice rising with panic.
The man, still slightly out of breath, straightened up and adjusted his suit.
"This," he said, gesturing to Ethan, "is the chief examiner of the company."
He paused for emphasis, letting his words sink in.
"He has the authority to evaluate, restructure, and even fire me if he sees fit. The owner of the company listens to whatever Mr. Ethan recommends."
Immediately the color drained from Malisa's face, her earlier arrogance replaced by sheer disbelief. Read new chapters at My Virtual Library Empire
"You must be joking," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Ethan then folded his arms and leaned back slightly, his gaze unwavering.
"I'm not," he said calmly, before turning his attention to the manager.
"Now, let me explain what just happened."
The manager listened intently as Ethan outlined the events leading up to the moment. Malisa at that moment regaining a shred of her composure, quickly tried to interject.
"That's not true!" she exclaimed. "Why would I do such a thing? He's lying!"
But before the manager could respond, a knock came at the door. Another security officer entered, holding a tablet in his hands.
"The footage is ready," he said, his tone professional.
Immediately the room fell silent as the footage played. Every word, every movement was there—the guards planting the item Ethan pocket, her direct orders to humiliate Ethan, and her mocking dismissal of him. The celebrity's face turned pale as the evidence became undeniable.
Ethan stood and straightened his jacket, his tone calm but authoritative as he addressed her. "Pack your bags," he said coldly, his gaze piercing.
"And leave. You're done here."
