Chapter 243 Then Break Up

Chapter 243 Then Break Up

"That's right." Old Wang nodded affirmatively, "All biological characteristics match."

"Why was she so terrified? Did something filthy suddenly pop up in the room, or was there a monster? Oh no, Mr. Furball..."

Ma Lu initially wanted to rush in to save her, but then he thought that if there really was danger inside, he shouldn't risk himself too—this was the main plane, where you couldn't respawn after death like in other planes.

And judging by the way Wei Jingyan fled, she was indeed terribly frightened.

However, as Ma Lu hesitated, Mr. Furball's voice already came from inside, "Come in, there's no one else here."

"You sure?" Ma Lu stepped one foot forward but then hesitated again and pulled back, asking quickly.

"What did we agree on to signal me if you weren't in any danger after 5 minutes?"

"Meow meow meow meow meow~" Mr. Furball meowed weakly a few times.

"So there really is no danger inside, and you're not possessed by something unclean. Then why did Wei Jingyan run away?"

Ma Lu walked in and found the room in chaos, with broken cups and dish fragments everywhere, tables and chairs thrown all over the place.

And Mr. Furball just stood in the eye of the storm.

"Your paw... is it hurt?" Ma Lu noticed a patch of crimson on the Ragdoll cat's left front paw and asked with concern.

"It's nothing," Mr. Furball waved his paw, "I just accidentally stepped on some glass just now."

"Did Wei Jingyan do all this?" Ma Lu surveyed the room again, "So you were arguing? What about?"

"I don't know, I had just started talking, hadn't even got to the proposal part when she went crazy and started throwing things at me. Then she screamed as if I was taking her to get spayed or something."

Mr. Furball looked at Ma Lu again, "Did she really say she'd marry me if I could talk?"

"Mm..." Ma Lu recalled carefully and confirmed, "She did, I remember it quite clearly because there aren't many women willing to marry a cat these days."

Just then, a pigeon flew in from outside the window and perched on the sill, its red eyes closely scrutinizing the man and cat inside the room.

Ma Lu tentatively called out, "Brother Pigeon?"

Then White Dove's voice echoed in his mind.

"I've received a tip-off that you're suspected of intimidating a native of this plane."

"You're on top of things. Are you working at the office for Misuse of Magic under the Ministry of Magic?"

"Don't play the Harry Potter card with me; I'm serious," White Dove said, looking sternly at Mr. Furball.

"I warned you not to let the humans here discover you're a cross-dimensional traveller, much less use that identity to intimidate them."

Ma Lu hurriedly explained, "It wasn't intentional, just a beautiful misunderstanding. Miss Wei has always had... strong feelings for Mr. Furball, and Mr. Furball was just about to reciprocate those feelings tonight, planning to start a new chapter of life with her."

The pigeon did not speak, but Ma Lu vaguely saw three question marks appearing over its head.

After a moment, it spoke slowly again, "I don't want to interfere with your emotional lives, but please respect my work as well. If there's a similar situation next time, remember to apply with me first so I can take care of it at the earliest if something really happens."

"Sorry," Ma Lu said. "It's our first time; we've got no experience. We've caused you trouble, Brother Pigeon."

Hearing this, the pigeon's expression softened and after pausing, it continued, "Fortunately, the incident isn't too serious. Just pay a fine of 200 Star Currency."

"I don't have Star Currency," Mr. Furball said. "I only have Cat Coin."

"I can cover it for you first." Ma Lu, seeing the pigeon's expression souring again, quickly said as he paid, and then asked, "By the way, how is Miss Wei Jingyan now?"

"After leaving here, she immediately bought a train ticket back to her hometown and is now on her way to the train station," White Dove said. "Luckily, it was discovered early so the impact isn't too big. You don't need to worry; I'll take care of the follow-up."

"Thanks, Brother Pigeon. We were just about to go home for a drink. Why don't you join us? I still have some of that kind of small bread you like."

White Dove shook its head. "I still have work to do; you guys go ahead. But remember to file an application first next time something similar happens."

After saying this, it spread its wings and flew out of the window.
